You came of age, if only because of magic. And really, "Magic" was pretty disappointing if you compare it to the song that came before it. "Midnight" was an impossible act to follow.
Work Bitch Coming Of Age is good! but I don't think it was first single material and I love Magic too! the first song I love from Coldplay since... I don't know, maybe Speed Of Sound
After being sick, being busy from work then got sick again I'm back with a BOMB.
2013: Ariana Grande - Baby I 2012: Kelly Clarkson - Mr. Know It All 2011: Simple Plan / Natasha Bedingfield - Jet Lag

And welcoming you all in my Top 80 is a song from Arcade Fire. The second single from their 'Reflektor' album is definitely my favorite song on the album. It's a big grower (just like most of the album) but this really stood out because the song is really uplifting. Also, the production is A++++ amazing.
2013: Taylor Swift - I Knew You Were Trouble 2012: Daughtry - Crawling Back to You 2011: Katy Perry - Firework

Both the album and the song is just amazing. Led Zepp's frontman Robert Plant just wanted to let all of us know that he can still bring something great and refreshing to the table. I haven't really dug deep into Led Zeppelin's discography but I've heard a couple of albums and this is my first Robert Plant album but I'm really craving for more. Plant is just one of the most talented men of the Rock and Roll era. Rainbow peaked at #15 in my chart for 6 straight weeks. I still can't believe it didn't go higher than that but it was consistent enough to help him land at #79
2013: Mumford & Sons - Whispers in the Dark 2012: Alabama Shakes - Hold On 2011: Avril Lavigne - Wish You Were Here

Nothing really much to say here. It's a cute bop!
2013: Ciara - Body Party 2012: Lady Gaga - Marry The Night 2011: P!nk - ****in' Perfect

LOVE the song. It feels like old school Robin but that mother****ing music video. Please kill it with fire. His creep level just went up a million times more. Why not just film a sweet music video? It's just awful in any way you see it.
2013: Matt Hires - Restless Heart 2012: Calvin Harris / Example - We'll Be Coming Back 2011: Keri Hilson - Pretty Girl Rock
Quote:
Pop CiCi. That gem that's seen or heard rarely. She really handles pop well but R&B Ci is where it's at! I'm so glad she's back with 'I Bet'. But still, I'm mad this didn't get a music video. #Justice4Overdose
2013: Emma Louise - Boy 2012: Taylor Swift - Ours 2011: Beyonce / Kanye West / Andre 300 or J. Cole - Party

I love this song. The second verse is just ****ing fire. One of the newcomers in my Best Of this year. Hopefully he'd keep it up!
2013: Kanye West - Black Skinhead 2012: Adele - Rumor Has It 2011: David Guetta / Nicki Minaj - Where Them Girls At

Just One Drink is an instant hit for me. I absolutely loved the song the first time I heard it. Unfortunately, it didn't reach the Top 10 but one Jack White song did. More of that later.
2013: Bastille - Laura Palmer 2012: Rihanna - You Da One 2011: OneRepublic - Good Life

I debuted this and Mother & Father at the same time. At first I liked Mother & Father better than Bridges but in time I actually learned to love Bridges more than Mother and Father. I really didn't grow on them because they sound really similar to some other indie bands already and I find their sound tiring. Bridges is a really good song though, I like it.
2013: |Arctic Monkeys - Do I Wanna Know 2012: G.O.O.D. Music - Clique 2011: Maroon 5 / Christina Aguilera - Moves Like Jagger

This song is truly deserving of the Grammy nomination. The song is just amazing. The album is also great. Blue Moon had a very consistent run in my chart peaking at #16 with a very solid 16-week run.
2013: Kelly Clarkson - Catch My Breath 2012: Gotye / Kimbra - Somebody That I Used To Know (what happened to ha?) 2011: Drake - Headlines

My favorite new band of the year hands down. Royal Blood just tickled the right formula of Rock without it sounding too harsh for my ears. I'm still finding bands similar to them and I am FAILING so bad. As far as I can recall, Out of the Black was in one of the charts in YTT and then I listened and felt really good after. The song really is great. The album is just um fantastic. Superb. Brilliant. Excellent. It's just amazing. Anyone want to recommend me bands similar to them? Oh btw, despite peaking only at #16 it charted for an IMPRESSIVE 18 weeks inside the chart. Impressive especially for a debut single. My hats off to the duo
2013: Britney Spears - Ooh La La 2012: John Mayer - Queen of California 2011: Mike Posner - Please Don't Go

Huge grower. The fact that it peaked at its 14th week on the chart is a feat since most songs only run for 12 weeks in my chart (previous rules, new rules this year). This is so far Arcade Fire's most successful single in my chart beating Sprawl II of The Suburbs which peaked at #6 in 2012.
2013: Foals - My Number 2012: JoJo - Sexy to Me 2011: Chris Brown - Yeah 3x
Quote:
Far from Eminem's best but it's catchy enough to land inside the Top 100.
2013: The Neighborhood - Sweater Weather 2012: Nicki Minaj - Starships 2011: Beyonce - Run the World (Girls)

One of two songs of Charli XCX in the chart. This is actually the first time I encountered Charli. I really never touched indie pop since I usually don't like most of them, I'd rather stay mainstream. I really haven't checked out her new album and I'm still thinking about it since Indie Pop ain't really my thing for the most part. This song though, pure bliss. It's so sweet.
2013: Of Monsters and Men - King and Lionheart 2012: Cher Lloyd / Mike Posner - With Ur Love 2011: Lady Gaga - You & I
Quote:
Didn't really like the song first but it's just so catchy. Still don't like the last part though. I think it was dumb and utterly irrelevant. I prefer Baby Got Back!
2013: Demi Lovato - Heart Attack 2012: Florence + the Machine - Never Let Me Go 2011: Katy Perry - The One That Got Away
Quote:
Probably my favorite song off the album. It just makes you wanna dance! One of two entries from Sam Smith
2013: Imagine Dragons - On Top of the World 2012: Katy Perry - The One That Got Away 2011: The Black Eyed Peas - The Time (Dirty Bit)
Quote:
Good song but I prefer Bridges!
2013: Christina Aguilera / Blake Shelton - Just A Fool 2012: Cage The Elephant - Always Something 2011: LMFAO / Goon Rock / Lauren Bennett - Party Rock Anthem

I really like this song's chilling productiona and Sam's vocals is just fantastic. Sadly, this is Sam's last entry on the chart.
2013: Kings of Leon - Supersoaker 2012: Example - Stay Awake 2011: The Black Eyed Peas - Just Can't Get Enough

Great feel good song! Their second top ten hit. What's funny about Family of the Year is that I tried to get into them in 2013 but then I got really bored with Hero. I downloaded their album because of Hero but **** got boring and I haven't listened to the album. So early 2014 came and I was browsing through my albums and I saw Family of the Year, searched them see what singles they released and was just why not give them another try and the second time's a charm. I love them and their album. This is, I believe the first of three songs so more of them up there.
2013: The National - Demons 2012: Lana del Rey - National Anthem 2011: Drake - Marvin's Room
Quote:
John Legend's first of two entries and I'm pretty sure y'all know what the other one is! Although All of Me will be charting just a bit higher, I still prefer this song to that and this peaked higher I still can't see as to how All of Me charted higher. I demand a recount!!
No, not in a million years. This **** got me up till 3 in the morning and I am not here for a recount. It is what it is bitch.
2013: Macklermore & Ryan Lewis - Thrift Shop 2012: Lana del Rey - Born To Die 2011: Adele - Rolling In The Deep

Martin Garrix, another newcomer in my chart. He's probably the only person to ever chart without any lyrics on their song in my chart (except for the "mother****in animals" part there are really no lyrics to the song). It's a really nice song. Production is great. I'm looking forward to more of this 18 year old because he is truly talented.
2013: Jack White - I'm Shakin' 2012: Arcade Fire - Sprawl II 2011: Nicki Minaj / Drake - Moment 4 Life

Y'all don't know how much I LOOOOVE this song. R. Kelly's part was decent but she could've just gotten someone else aside from him because she didn't give the song the justice it deserves. It was a SMASH waiting to happen but the video they did was just ****ing tacky (based on the leaked parts) and with R. Kelly's reputation it really isn't going to help at all. I'm pretty sure she wanted the attention she'll get for that but seriously, I'm pretty damn relieved she didn't release the video because it could tarnish her rep. Still love the song.
2013: Ellie Goulding - Anything Could Happen 2012: Keane - Silenced By The Night 2011: Kanye West / Nicki Minaj / Bon Iver / Jay-Z / Rick Ross - Monster

Nicki Minaj OWNED this song. Without her this would sound like a hit filler in the Top 10 of the Hot 100. Jessie and especially Ariana's verses are weak as ****. This song did decently in my chart because of Nicki. I NEED to give her that credit.
2013: Beyonce - Dance For You 2012: J. Cole - Work Out 2011: Nicole Scherzinger / 50 Cent - Right There

I remember loving this song so much at the start of 2014, I always play it and sing to it every single time I hear this song. Cage just speaks to me and this is why I love them!
This song is just amazing. One of the best songs Kings of Leon has EVER released. This is the reason why it went directly at #1 right after it debuted last year and also the reason why it appears this year and last year. It's just amazing and I can't even explain it in words.
2013: Anna Kendrick - Cups (When I'm Gone) 2012: Foster The People - Call It What You Want 2011: Kesha - Blow

I recently found out how hated this song is on ATRL. My question is WHY? It's a ballad, it's not pop and finally it's not a pop girl owning the top spot. ATRL really hates the guys who blocks their faves on that #1 spot!
2013: Frank Ocean - Lost 2012: Foo Fighters - these Days 2011: Taylor Swift - Mean

What can I say? Every song on AM can be a single. The album is just fantastic and is one of my most played albums 2 years running. One for the Road is no exception on that greatness.
2013: Justin Timberlake - Mirrors 2012: Jack White - Freedom at 21 2011: Rihanna - California King Bed

Does someone agree with me that Oblivion is the best song on Bad Blood? I've been calling this out since I first heard the album and I can't believe that the music video is equally beautiful. I can't wait for their next album. I'm a fan but I'm not a huge fan yet. I'm still waiting for their next.
2013: The Lumineers - Stubborn Love 2012: Christina Perri - A Thousand Years 2011: Lady Gaga - The Edge of Glory

I know that this isn't a single but I believe this is the best song on the album. I can't really help not putting it on my daily playlist and it worked. It charted just two spots away from the Top 50. We need the new album Tegan and Sara!
2013: Miguel - Do You 2012: Chris Brown / Kevin McCall - Strip 2011: Maroon 5 - Never Gonna Leave This Bed

The harmonica is everything. It made the song SOOO GOOD. This is also probably Pitbull's best verses in a very long time! No "dale" or "mr. worldwide". I like it and Kesha's vocals WOW. The song is just one of the best pop songs last year.
That's it for now. Tomorrow we will start the Top 50! Thanks guys!
This is the farthest I did in the past 3 years I'm so proud of myself!
90-81: Coming of Age is good and I should got to it sooner. I like I Lived because it's positive and up-lifting and the video is a good take on the message of the song. Unconditionally is a very nice song from Katy, Magic was a grower, but I like the song a lot. I need My Girl is nice.
80-51: Afterlife is a really good song. It's a wonderful listening experience. Get Her Back is alright. Overdose is a nice jam. She does well with this pop sound, but yeah R&B CiCi is the best.Bridges is nice and I do like Mother & Father. Blue Moon is an incredible song. Reflektor is a behemoth of a song. It's really great. The Monster is good, but not better than LTWYL. Still, the song itself is a good effort. I like Anaconda more than I should've. The power of Baby Got Back. Restart has a nice vibe to it. A wonderful jam. I'm Not the Only One is a beautiful piece of art. You & I (Nobody in the World) is a very nice song. Feels right. Animals is a good jam. The production is crazy! Oh, there's the video for DWUW sorta of. Interesting. Still, a good song. Temple is really good. A good piano ballad All of Me. I thought they hated it because it was cheesy and they ain't with songs like these on the radio. Your reason makes more sense. One for the Road is another good one from AM. I say that Oblivion is the one that stand outs the most because of this wonderful ballad. Timber was a disappointment, but the harmonica was good, but still.
Right There | The Monster | Boom Clap | Anaconda | Restart | I'm Not the Only One | Do What U Want | Bang Bang | Problem | All of Me | Oblivion | I'm Not Your Hero | Timber
Plenty of amazing songs. Yasss at DWUW, BB and P!
Restart My favorite track from Sam's album.
