The pregnancy announcement, the bba performance and the chart performances of I Care, I Was Here & End of Time will be iconic moments from this era however
^you were lurking here for a while before posting that comment hence my reply. But yes Black's post was not really constructive.
OT: When I think about it what makes Thriller iconic is that Michael delivered the most iconic performance of his career during that era.
The videos have contributed a lot though.
Like the OP said, not focusing on the album or how it performed.
I'd say Yes. Billboard, Glastonbury, VMAs....
If you want to be negative, even the "Is It a Fake Baby Bump?" scandal garnered more attention than some other artists.
I don't even think that a common people out side of Beyonce's fan base is aware that she's pregnant. Even Octomom's pregnancy is more iconic than hers.
Not tew much now, her pregnancy was the most tweeted about event this year, and it still garners attention through all the surrogate/prosthetic bump rumors.
Yes but it is the first era beyonce look weak against the other artis in terms of chart postion, promo and Budget.
Now the iconic is the baby anouncement, Glastorbury, Billboard award performance, Music production, End of time, I care, I was here and the fashion!
Beyonce was the first female to perform there in 20 years. She is the FIRST BLACK woman to perform there. It was an excellent concert. It was lauded by all the critics.

And somehow it became the most controversial pregnancy OF ALL TIME and broke a record on Twitter for being talked about more than any other given event in HISTORY.
How can a whole era become iconic anyway? Single, specific moments within an era can become iconic. People call Thriller an iconic album/era all the time and yet they always get it confused with Bad (the one with the 5 #1s). The moment in the Thriller era that's iconic is the music video for the title song.
I am pretty sure people remember the red leather motorcycle jacket Beat It and the moonwalk from Billie Jean in addition to the Thriller video.
