I never got why it was so overrated on here. It was huge in ratings, sure, but people act like its the biggest most impactful show of all time when sitcoms like 'Seinfeld' and 'The Cosby Show' were bigger and had more impact? What makes 'Friends' so special?
Extremely overrated in general, I've seen a few episodes and it's ridiculous tbh but I'm not a sitcom fan to begin with so I can't really judge.. Either way it obviously has made an impact and is iconic for many people but some do it waaaay too much tho
No it wasn't just cause ATRL associates black with local doesn't make it true. You do realize the Cosby show is one of the most recognizable sitcoms not only in the first world but in places like Africa and Asia.
Don't lie boo, i'm in Asia, and no, i never heard of people talk about Cosby show. The thing is, it aired on my local tv that still on test. But then again they aired lot of old series like Full House, Early Edition, etc.
You know that China also had Central Perk, like in Dubai, and the opening was attended by Gunther, like the 20th person that most relevant on the show, and still people go crazy about it.
Anyway, some people mentioned Roseanne here before, is it good? I'm checkin old series too lately. I'm currently on 1st Season of Golden Girls and 2nd season of Will and Grace.
Dang it Will & Grace were so offending. I mean it's funny yes, but sometimes that Karen and Jack's line were so and them brought up f*g to the primetime comedy.
I was going through this thread in the morning ironically while watching Friends Vegas episodes I can think of at least 3 channels that air Friends where I live this month and when I catch them I still laugh like crazy even though I've seen all the episodes for like 5 times at least.

I've given up on these TV series after season three recently The only good thing about it is Karen, who is extremly funny (although I hated the classist jokes she always aimed at her help
but still laughed from time to time

Seinfeld was a way better show with better actors and a smarter script.
I hate Phoebe... one of the worst sitcom characters ever. I know everyone pretends to love her because she's "kooky" but she's not at all funny and very tryhard. Joey wasn't funny either.

Roseanne was gold during the first 4 or 5 seasons but it goes drastically downhill by the final season.
You can see Friends like 4 or 5 times a day here, in a country where the native language is not even english, so you can't deny the impact and world domination ..
The Cosby show was Global. Literally all my aunts/Uncles and parents were perched for new episodes back in the day and they lived in Nigeria and Cameroon.
Yet you're the one who said that you don't watch anything with a laugh track in the background. So you really DON'T have any right to call it trash when you obviously haven't watched it yourself. And with your logic, Full House, The Golden Girls, That 70s Show, Frasier, Seinfeld, Family Matters, and others are trash too.
