Honestly, people discussing this as if the mods are trying to be tyrannical is stupid. This is a proper discussion the board has had over the year since the founding of the Official Threads - who can and cannot post, who runs it, are they needed.

Semaforo points out a proper point: The Music/Charts thread is expected to be about NEWS. It is not, under any circumstances, supposed to be home to fan clubs. That, which Mike (as usual) and others seem to miss, is my entire point. "Official Threads" are just glorified fan clubs that are more special and pretty because it's "official". The discussions in those threads (and i posted in the GA one, so I know) really is not relevant to the news. It's just ******** that needs to be done elsewhere.

News should be individual posts, fan club nonsense needs to be kept to the social groups. Official Threads need to close.

LMAO but I so agree...... I been here for damn near 3 years and my post total shows that I only come here for certain pop/rock artists that I'm a fan of. Official threads where the best thing... I could come and read the news, post if I felt like it and keep it moving. Now I gotta hunt back to the last time I came here and look for any news that interests me. I don't mind the haters or the post *****s because I don't come for all that. #2 is the ebst choice, only the pop icons/ superstars (Mariah/Christina) need one if they have an album out since they're the ones who will always be talked about and doing things. No album out means just post whatever random tidbit there is on them if its that serious. The little stars can just have random threads like Kelly Rowland or Ashlee Simpson since nobody is really checking for them. I think we should have more discussion threads to help make that section more fun because its boring & plain with just news threads.

I think the maturity level is the problem and why the idea of official threads were abused. I love Monica & Mario but they don't have that much news on them so I never made an official thread... I mean Mario is on Dancing with the Stars that can be discussed in Celebria if it was that serious. I thought the Brandy thread was completely useless since Brandy JUST got signed to a record label like a month ago so no album is coming anytime soon. The Beyonce thread was useless too since it seems nobody cares about her at the moment and only one person kept it alive. Even now, it seems just because Usher did a remix with her that its been deemed newsworthy, when has a remix EVER been newsworthy

What Do You Seriously Think About The New ATRL?

We were promised that the site would run easier, and the site would be better. Well I was banned during the time, so when I came back everything was weird. You can't update thread, so you have to change the name. It's really annoying when it comes to updating a chart or a game? I wish the old ATRL was back I would understand it better? What do you all think about the way the site runs now?

Well, the site loads a lot faster for me, and I like the new additions. TC had made the "update threads" hack for the old ATRL I believe, but will probably take a lot of time and energy to input to the new forum software. Looks like you're just gonna have to deal with it

It's not by choice. They HAD to update the site for security reasons and the site's overall stability. At least we got some new features on the way with a neat design.

It is better
Not my problem you were banned
I wish I could update threads but that is not the single most important feature of the site and people need to stop complaining about it because it is not making it come back.

OK, so I just finally noticed something that I doubt we can add but I'll suggest.

Is it possible to re-add-or so a views category to the blogs? Responses are lovely but I think it's far better to see how many views it has had not that I'm saying this due to my blog posts being almost equal to responses
