Yesterday, I asked you to vote on the first round of match-ups from the
Florence Division of our draw, and you made it a clean sweep of the tournament's top dogs. In a back-and-forth battle that looked to be settled several times,
#16 "I Wanna Be Bad" beat #1 "Dog Days Are Over" by a single vote. Otherwise, the division was fairly free of upsets.
#2 "Little Talks" and
#3 "Bitch" posted close, but comfortable, victories over their opponents, while
#4 "Me and Bobby McGee" and
#6 "What Is Love?" crushed theirs, more than doubling them in votes.
#7 "Uprising" and
#8 "Criminal" faced tough competition, but moved smoothly into the second round. Only #5 "Here (In Your Arms)" was felled, in a dominant performance by
#12 "Untouched".

With that, we now move on to the
second round of ATRL March Madness, where 32 songs remain chasing the title of the
greatest one-hit wonder ever. After a wonky first round full of underdog victories that saw all four #1 seeds defeated, the tournament is looking wide open for anyone to take the crown. Check out the updated draw below (or find a larger version
