That was off the back of JT, but even then she still had The Evolution's success backing her up.
It would be much harder for her to break through to pop with a 2nd or 3rd single.

They want to capitalize off urban singles because they want her album to sell. Sure she can go straight into the top 40 with a pop single but then sell a 30k album?
And the GP won't just buy her album off one urban hit. At least two. Then follow up with a pop single to longevite the era. They are obviously focused on selling the album first.
