Please trickle down economics refers to tax BREAKS for big business. I'm just stating that the government leaves them alone. For example raising the minimum wage would cause these big businesses to lay off thousands of people and decrease hours for existing employees. This would just further harm those not improve their lively hood. The Democrats just throw money at the problem and that just doesn't work. The poor need jobs not welfare

Honey I'm not even a Republican. Theres a huge difference in me 'stereotyping' this the people on this site then stereotyping half the nation. And its not even stereotyping. The site is for pop culture and music and most posters have that clearly identified by their usernames and pictures.

The americans should be able to vote between several different parties instead of just two imo. I mean, obviously the Republicans will block Obama in every way, same goes for the opposit scenario. THE FOUNDING FATHERS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH TODAY. The political ideology of the founding fathers were great given the time. Please tell me how the "messed up big time". The country would have never been established if they were set on abolishing slavery and it would have persisted anyway. They at least put measures in place to try and ameliorate the situation. Obviously it wasn't perfect but how could it have been. The Republican and Libertarian platforms do not want to rewind time? that makes no sense at all and has no facts to support it. Goodbye.

But they wouldn't HAVE to fire all those people. This is where values and morals come in. The rich could get off their bum asses and give some to the working class of america. Signing a charity check for pocket change (to them) is not my idea of real help.

I'll find the source later but the 40 richest families in the U.S. are worth over $2T. They, hypothetically, could each give away HALF of their networth and still be multi billionaires. Is that not enough? I mean really.

They're what's wrong with our country. They have SO much power it's ridiculous. The Koch brothers basically want a Hunger Games version of America and it's getting increasingly easier for them to achieve that.

Accept look at what Republicans did when they goverened. Two unpaid for trillion+ dollar elective wars that left the world worse off than before engaging in them. Tax cuts that werent paid for with spending cuts. They were policing peoples bedrooms and trying to manage womans right to make theor own health care decisions. Thats big government. Its also bad government.

The republicans bring up the big government red herring everytime a democrat challenges them on an issue when the truth is its all a sham to keep the democrats from being able to govern at all when democrats are in power. The result of conservative policies was a stock market crash and two decade long wars. Democrats bring the stock markets back up to record levels and get punished for it.

Anyone who knows anything about economic is that you cant cut your way to growth and a business is micro economics and a country is macro economics. They arent the same thing. Business owners give notoriously bad economic policy advice. In many cases the advice actually hurts them as much as everyone else who listens to it. The governments motivations and a businesses motivations are not the same and should not be the same.

I realized that after reading your posts, I edited. And in typical, ignorant fashion, you minimize your offensive remarks to make them seem less ignorant and idiotic. Putting the word in quotations marks doesn't mean that you're not doing something democrats tend to do to republicans. Regardless of that, the fact that you label the socio-political change many people want as "BS" is ridiculous. Correcting the underlying social issues would likely lead to a more egalitarian economic system. But I'm sure that's not what you really want.

I predicted if Obama ran and dems picked him for pres he'd win. I said the same about Howard Dean. They had the best ideas. However, congress has to actually pass those ideas into law and as you saw with Obama its almost never what his first choice for a law or even his second choice for a law. He had a choice to get some of what he wants or none of what he wants. Half the states that voted against the dems are having great success with their Obamacare claim they dont want but good luck trying to take it from them now. Even Mitch McConnell had to tip toe around the issue of Covered Kentucky.

So if nobody wanted him to run for any of those positions how did he get to them? Failed logic. The DNC hyped him up even though he was losing to Hillary. His idea could have gotten passed in his first two years and they still didn't his 'great' stimulus plan was a complete bust. Most of his ideas anyway are conjured up from his team anyway. Hillary would have been better and thats that.

I love the condescending tone you add to your posts as if your ideology is just far superior to mine. This is a forum and I am a poster. So what if I generalize some of the more ignorant ones on here. I am not making laws and controlling this country. And its hard to individually differentiate the 30 responses I am writing at 1 AM so forgive me for being hypocritical.
I am fully in favor of most of the social changes that are presented however unlike some who cry bloody murder saying that with Republicans in power we'll go back to the 1800's, I can easily see looking at trending patterns that all these social issues will become solved in a relatively short amount of time. Gay marriage WILL become nationally legal. Women's rights WILL be fully realized, but these take time and it doesn't matter who's in power. I'm definitely not perfect in everything I'm saying but I am certainly not corrupt and blind and I'm not trying to 'help' anybody. I have been sitting idly on this site for years just reading the foolishness spewed across every single political thread and now I am inserting my opinions into it which I am free to do. If you hate politics so much leave this thread.
