15 Adele Someone Like You
"I hate to turn up out of the blue uninvited, but I couldn‘t stay away, I couldn‘t fight it"
It’s Adele; it’s Someone Like You; it’s better than Rolling In The Deep. That’s all that must be said.
14 Beyonce Love On Top
"Honey honey, I can see the stars all the way from here"
I actually had to Wikipedia whether or not Love On Top is actually considered a single, and it is; consider that a testament to its floppiness. I didn’t particularly like this song until Beyonce’s VMA performance, but now, Love On Top is one of my favorite songs from 4, and I get so. much. life. from the vocals.
13 Selena Gomez (and the Unseen) Hit The Lights
"It‘s the city of love that waits for you, but you‘re too damn scared to fly"
Hit The Lights is one of my favorite songs from Selena’s most recent album, When The Sun Goes Down. This song will hit the charts early in 2012, and if it’s handled correctly (hahahahahaha) it could slay and become Selena’s biggest song to date, and one of the first hits of 2012... I won’t hold my breath though.
12 Nicki Minaj (feat. Rihanna) Fly
"I am not fly, I am levitation"
Fly is one of my favorite songs from Pink Friday, because it’s one of the only songs I can actually sing along to. In addition to that, I love this Rihanna/ Minaj combo and its lyrics are awesome.
11 Britney Spears Hold It Against Me
"Hey, over there, please forgive me if I‘m coming on too strong"
If I said I wasn’t a fan of this song upon its initial release, would you Hold It Against Me? But seriously, I tweeted my dislike of this song and my tweet became a top tweet and Britney stans spent over three hours tweeting me telling me I was stupid and that I should go die. Fortunately, I’ve seen the error of my ways, because this song is incredible; it’s like Circus on steroids (and for the record, Circus was one of my favorite pop songs of 2009).
A sneak peek at tomorrow’s update (10-6): A fairytale romance gone bad, a song you wouldn’t expect to see in the top 10, and three empowerment themed lead singles from three very different artists.
If I haven’t commented on the most recent update in your thread, leave a post on my wall and I’ll stop by… I tried to get to most of the threads I’ve been following, but I may have missed some.
(This excludes Razzle, because I don’t know any of the songs in your most recent update)
