Phoebe Tonkin premieres new single on KIIS FM
Phoebe Tonkin stopped by KIIS FM radio station in Los Angeles to have a first interview in a long time to talk about everything that has been going with her life this past four months, when she suddenly dissappeared. Also, other than the interview, Phoebe premiered her new single, Midsummer Days, on KII FM exclusively, for the first time ever. Right after the radio premiere, Midsummer Days became available to buy on iTunes just for 0.69$, and immediatly reached Top 10. After the premiere, single received a lot of mixed reviews and feedback on Twitter, Tumblr and various social websites, as well as from other celebrities. The single/studio version of Midsummer Days that got played on KIIS FM sounded way more mature and professional than the older version, which was performed live on several TV shows and festivals. The new version consisted of more organic, a bit of rock/indie/pop sound, and sounded like a The Neighbourhood meets Arctic Monkeys song, a little bit influenced by pop sound, with really beautiful and inspiring, happy lyrics. After the premiere, Phoebe talked with the KIIS FM DJ that was interviewing her about her upcoming debut album and the story why she decided to postpone it and even re-record it for the second time, she also chatted about her fashion influences, performances, fans and relationships.

Paige Elliot Releases "S/E/X" Video Teaser
After the lead single, "S/E/X", to Paige Elliot's upcoming third studio album, released just this morning, Elliot debuted a TV spot of the video on MTV, before uploading it to her official YouTube account for viewing.
The video, which was rumored to be directed by Jonas Åkerlund, a long-time friend of Elliot's who also directed the video for her debut single, "Ready for the Weekend".
Each clip of the video is quick, lasting merely a few seconds before switching up. The clip opens up right to the chorus of the song, and features Paige walking through a busy city street, her hair long and straight, wearing a tight yellow tube top, black shorts and extremely high stilettos. It then cuts to a shot of Paige lying in the ground wearing lacy black lingerie, staring into a mirror and making eye contact with a man across the room through the mirror; the camera pans sideways, showing her heels and a bottle of wine by the fireplace. It then cuts to Paige at a breakfast table, wearing the outfit from the first clip, with several other people eating breakfast with her; she looks out of place with the homely family. The next shot is of Paige in bed with a man, the man's hands tied to the corner posts of the bed while Paige sits on his chest, messing with his hair. It then cuts to a red carpet event, Paige getting out of the car and trying to block her face out of the various cameras flashing. The final shot is a repeat of the first one, with Paige walking through the city in her skimpy outfit before she turns a corner and goes off-camera.
After the video clip's debut, Paige released some information onto her official twitter account:
Quote:
Paige Elliot @PaigeElliot
While the song's only 5:25 in length, the video's much longer. There's a bit of a story behind it, and as a result, it's around ten minutes long.
|
Quote:
Paige Elliot @PaigeElliot
The main message of the song is somewhat shown in the video. It doesn't get as far into it as I would like, but I'm trying to keep things entertaining.

The video releases March 4th.

Phoebe Tonkin performs at Marc Jacobs fashion show
Actress, singer and fashionista Phoebe Tonkin stopped by the highly anticipated Marc Jacobs show, where she not only posed for the paparazzis while sitting in the front row, but also performed and walked down the runway as well. After arriving at the building and posing with other celebrities, as soon as the show started, Phoebe was spotted on the back of the runway on a white platform with a whole live band behind her, when she performed her new single, Midsummer Days, for the first time after it was officially released as a single. Phoebe was looking more high fashion than ever, rocking out all white/gray outfit - she was wearing white, long and a little bit baggy shirt with a loose, knee long white skirt, and a really cool, big green coat. For the shoes, Phoebe decided to go with white Louboutins. Her short, messy and rockstar-ish hair completed the look. Phoebe's voice was on point, she performed really good and it seemed like she was enjoying performing during the Marc Jacobs show. As she was singing, models were walking down the runway and showing the clothes. Phoebe's voice was really sweet and beautiful, it really matched this whole new indie/indie rock/pop sound that she was going for. After her performance, Phoebe stepped from the white platform and walked down the runway herself, just confirming by that she was wearing Marc Jacobs new collection clothes. After the show, internet's blogs and websites buzzed with articles about Phoebe's outfit and excellent fashion sense, as well as her really impressive comeback performance. People on the internet were praising her new single and also, her new genre.

The concert began at 11:00 AM CST, and continued for only a few songs from each of Paige's album.

Spread and Excerpt from March's 'Rolling Stone' Released
A two-page spread from the March 2014 issue of Rolling Stone was released today, accompanied by a brief excerpt of the issue's main article, centered around Paige Elliot.
Quote:
Having six Oscars and three Golden Globes under her belt, there's no denying she's a force to be reckoned with in the acting world. Her career began only 9 years ago, at the age of 15, though it really took off the next year, with her role in the film Sirens, which won her her first Oscar at the age of 17, making her the youngest person to win an Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role. Her box office grossing numbers are nothing to laugh at, either, with Sirens grossing $400,000,000. However, her biggest-grossing film, also considered her biggest role to date, Tension, grossed $2,622,950,818, making it the fourth-highest grossing film of all time, including those adjusted for inflation. She started branching out into music later, buying and releasing the Icona Pop party anthem "Ready for the Weekend" as her lead single from the energetic, hyper-rave album 'Celebration', both of which went to #1 on their respective charts. Her second album, 'Heaven/Hell', which exploded with EDM and dubstep matched with emotional lyrics reflecting on the good and bad moments of her life, continued a streak of success, reaching #1 on the album charts yet again and its singles "Ecstasy" and "Made of Stone" both going to the top of their charts. Despite such elements in her music, Paige prefers quite different things to listen to, citing the Cure, Pink Floyd, Nine Inch Nails, Concrete Blonde and the GoGos as some of her favorite acts, though she combines them with Madonna, Infected Mushroom and Die Antwoord.
Though being at the young age of 24, she's already been married and divorced-- the divorce was highly publicized, and resulted in Paige winning a lawsuit over physical assault, mental abuse, mental trauma and duress, causing her now-ex-husband David, 33, to hand over several shared belongings, including a condo in California and a yacht in the Caribbean. The two met at Paige's university when Paige was 18, and continued a relationship through college. On her 22nd birthday, they were engaged, and then married on her 23rd. They divorced just a year and a half later after David decided he was leaving her, and a desperate Paige grabbed him, resulting in him kicking her in the chest.
Nervous about the subject, Paige chain-smokes seven cigarettes over the course of ten minutes, violently jamming each butt onto a glass ashtray with blood veins carved into it. It's a miracle that her vocals in her music are still perfect after all this smoking, though she says she only does it when she's extremely nervous. She then walks behind the couch over to a bar near her desk, and pours a glass of scotch. She brings an extra glass and the bottle with her, offering me a drink, though I deny. She keeps the bottle with her anyway.
No person, actress or singer, let alone both, has had so much consecutive success in such a quick time and at such a young age. Despite some calling her a fad, the strip of 9 years of acting success declared otherwise, and her musical career is still relatively new. The same can't be said for many; with those that live in music, their attempts at acting fall flat, and vice versa. Paige proves she can finally make a proper balance between the two worlds.

The issue hits stands tomorrow, March 2nd, 2014.

VEVO Ask Reply: Phoebe Tonkin
@phoebesupport: #PhoebeVEVO where have you been since Bedtime Stories?
I've decided to take a break from the fame a little bit, because I was never used to the huge fame or anything, and suddenly Bedtime Stories went number one and then look, everyone is following me and I can't have any kind of privacy. So I decided to back off a bit and travel. I always wanted to travel, and I did, but only as a singer, you know. I wasn't able to actually see the city even if I was in it, I was only able to perform at the certain show and then I had to go to other country. And I decided to travel just to see places, without performing. When I saw a lot of amazing and inspiring places, I began writing new songs, and I've got some new ideas, they were really impressive and I locked myself once again in the studio. As I was recording the new songs, I completely fell in love with a whole new genre which wasn't that similar with me - the indie/indie rock/pop genre, and me and my team decided to re-record this whole album. And I'm happy I did it, I'm happy that I decided to re-record it. It's amazing
@keshafan129suxx: could you describe your new single? #phoebevevo #wemissedyou
Hello @keshafan129suxx, I missed you too! So yeah, Midsummer Days... It's an indie rock song with a bit of pop influences in it, something like Foxes meets Arctic Monkeys. I think it's one of my favorite songs on the album, it's refreshing and it's something new, something you won't hear on the radio nowadays, but it's still super radio-friendly, and it fits pop as well as alternative audiences. The whole lyrical story is about summer and spending your time just relaxing, laying down by the pool, sunbathing, travelling around and having adventures. It's nostalgic song, because the sound, as well as those lyrics, makes you only remember about sunny days, water, waves, sea, rivers, lakes, anything that relates to the summer actually... But it's a beautiful song and I'm happy that it's a single. It's definately one of my favorite songs on the album, and it is the best introduction to the album. I guess you can tell what you can expect from my album when you listen to this song.
@ILYPHOEBEUTHEBEST: when we can expect your album? #PHOEBEVEVO
Everything is set and done and you just need to wait for it. I'm not giving any kind of detail at the moment, I want to make a proper announcement, with the pre-order and stuff, but I can actually say that you should expect the announcement this, or next week, and the album will drop this month, or early next month. Right now, I'll be focused on promoting the single, Midsummer Days, and after I'll finish the Midsummer Days promotion plan, I asure you, that I'll release the record as soon as possible. I really want to release it really soon, because I know I've let my fans down by postponing the release of it two, or, three times, and even dissappearing for quite a long time, so I want to release it, I know that my fans can't wait for it any longer. They've already waited for such a long time, so that wouldn't be fair if they had to wait longer. I PROMISE you, you will have it soon. Sooner than you expect.
@xoxotonkinz: have you planned out Midsummer Days video? #phoebevevo
Yes, and in the mean time while I was gone for a while, I shot it with two really cool directors! It looks really amazing. I don't want to spill anything yet, I want it to be a surprise, but the video is really simple, it is really beautiful and focused on the nature, on it's beauty, but it's amazing, I love every single scene of it, everything looks so phenomenal. It is all about the nature and how beautiful it is, it includes a lot of nature shots, and it's just a warm and beautiful video. It wasn't that easy to shot because we had to travel if we wanted to show the beauty of the nature and the beauty of the summer, because that is what this song represents. The video has story, and it was really fun to shoot it. And, actually, my friends will be appearing on it, so get excited! I think my fans will love it.

AB: You'll have to wait and see! We already collabed once on her mixtape SATISFY so maybe we can do one on my album. Maybe!

Selena Gomez stopped by The View today to talk about her new music, why she doesn't collaborate with females and hubby Dwyane Wade. "So you just released your 4th album to rave reviews at a time where many new artists are emerging and even a few older artists are preparing their releases. Is it scary?" one woman asked. "I think... you reach a certain point in your career where you aren't the new girl anymore and when you realize that, you stop worrying about new artist things. I think moreso than competing with new artists, I am just focused on cementing my legacy and doing great things for myself and the world." she responded. "What advice would you give to the up & coming musicians?" "I think mainly just too stick to your guns. Be careful. Don't rush anything and just make sure you're also thinking about your future."
"Selena, I've noticed that you have collaborated with many, many, many male artists. Rappers & singers. But you don't collaborate with many females. Why is that?" another asked. "Um, just because.. - well it's not a thing where I'm saying "no girls allowed!" it's just that I think the musical chemistry I have with the people that I've worked with has always been amazing. And I need amazing chemistry. I just happen to get that with more males than females."
She then performed her new single "Crown".

Midsummer Days discounted on iTunes + gets the main banner
It was just announced by Phoebe's label and management Indigo on Twitter and Facebook, that her highly anticipated second single Midsummer Days, the single which will lead up to her debut album, is now discounted to just $0.69 on iTunes, and that this discount will last at least for two weeks from today. There isn't exact date when the discount will be over. Also, the main banner on iTunes now includes Midsummer Days single cover, also informing, that it is discounted to $0.69. As soon as the single got discounted, it jumped six spots higher on iTunes and entered the top three. After the single got discounted, Phoebe and her label posted the iTunes link on Twitter and Facebook. However, various celebrity gossip websites are claiming that Phoebe didn't knew about the discount thing and that she isn't very happy with the label not talking about the discount with her. Also, those websites are claiming that the label didn't comment on this situation with the discount, as they didn't tell exactly why they decided to discount the single to the minimum even from the release day.

Phoebe posts a letter for her fans
It's been a while, my dear fans. I haven't posted anything for about four months now, I didn't go out anywhere in the public, I didn't attend any kind of show. I was gone for a while, and I never said about taking a hiatus. I was planning to take one or two week break, but then... a lot of things happened and I had to postpone any kind of plan that I had. I postponed my second single, I postponed my album, I postponed and even canceled some shows or movies that I had to appear in. I decided to take a hiatus. I wanted to focus on myself. I HAD to focus on myself. I've decided to spend a little time just focusing on myself. I travelled around the world and I visited a lot of beautiful places. I wanted to see the world - not while touring, not while being tired of the same routine every single night on stage, or being tired of dancing and singing. I wanted to see the world and rest, let my body revive. And I did. I revived. I visited a lot of beautiful places, such like Sweden, Norway, Iceland, I also visited Switzerland, Netherlands, Spain and even Portugalia. I was amazed by these places. And I got a lot of inspiration to write new songs, to record new songs, to create a whole new sound. Before my huge trip, my album was supposed to came out, but it never did, and it was completely ready to go. Although I postponed it because I wanted to take a break, not because me or my label didn't like it, I decided to re-record it, for the second time. So after two months of travelling, I came back to Sweden, Stockholm, I recorded new songs. I was so inspired after my break that I couldn't believe how much material I had created just in two or three days! Then, I went back to Los Angeles, where I finished the second part of the album. Just in three weeks, I've created 12 demos that were part of the new, re-recorded album. I was a completely new artist and my sound really improved. I was happy. During the rest of the time, I finalized everything, I created more songs and two weeks ago I submitted a whole new album to my label. And they loved it. And I was proud of myself, because not only my voice and genre improved, but my confidence about my own material improved as well. When I wanted to release my album back then in October, I just wanted to get it out because I was nervous about everything - how fans, not fans and other people will react. But now, it's different. I really want to release it as soon as possible, I want people to hear it, I'm not nervous about something this time, at all. I'm confident, I believe in my own material. I, personally, love it, and I keep jamming to my own songs in the car! I can't wait for you to hear this beautiful album. It has everything - love, pain, loneliness, sadness, happiness, it has everything. It has pop, it has indie. It has everything what you need to have a pleasure while listening to it. I had the pleasure recording it, and I hope you'll have the same pleasure while listening to it. The second single, a follow up to two times Platinum single Bedtime Stories came out today, and it is called Midsummer Days. The album is coming really soon, and I mentioned the name of the album in this letter, but I don't want to completely give it out. Keep guessing! I hope you're excited as much as I am. I love you. Stay safe. Phoebe Jane

Justin Bieber visits TRL
"It's been a very, very long process -- and I'm glad MTV still gladly supports me in everything I do" Justin Bieber started out with his appearance on TRL. Justin appeared on TRL after having his album premiere with MTV this morning, and talked about the album a little deeper. "Before I begin, everyone in the audience -- everyone down there screaming my name outside the building gets a FREE COPY" he said as the audience went crazy. He then talked about the album, and it didn't take long before a fan mentioned "Favorite Kind of Trouble was a #1 single, and NEVER had a video. Your new single also has no video, so we have no videos for the album. How are we gonna support you on MTV?" Justin laughed replying, "Y'all know I've been announcing EVERYTHING this past week! I won't leave you hangin', you know I'll eventually get to videos".
Justin also talked about his engagement with Vanessa, but to his surprise a few fans in the audience made disappointed faces knowing he was currently off the market. He dusted it off however, and gave them a kiss on the cheek.
While Justin was on TRL, they showed videos from his old eras since he technically as said, has no videos this era. He said production for the video, "Take Me To Your Heaven" was currently happening. However, he said "I can't make any type of promises for the past single's video. It was a single with Eric Saade, so therefore his label is also involved with releasing that. He's currently on a break."

Phoebe Tonkin performs on Good Day L.A.
Phoebe Tonkin has stopped by the Good Day L.A. studios, where she performed her new single Midsummer Days. She was wearing a black and white outfit, and her hair was messy, making her look chic and rocker-ish. She performed an acoustic version of Midsummer Days for the show, wanting to show her vocal abilities and how her voice actually improved. She performed while sitting on a chair, with an acoustic live band behing her, just standing and playing their instruments. Phoebe's voice was really impressive and the soft melody that was played by the band just helped her to show that her voice is created for acoustic performances like this. She did a great job with her performance, her voice was on point, there were no technical problems or whatsoever, everything was just as good as it was planned. Later, Phoebe also appeared on the show once again and sat down with two hosts, who interviewed Phoebe and asked about her current life, upcoming debut album, the success of her debut single and even more. Also, Phoebe said that the Midsummer Days video will be coming out soon and that the album will be available to pre-order the same day, right after the video premiere. She seemed to be super excited and she said that she can't wait for everyone to see what she and the director came up with.
