| #40 Sam Smith - I'm Not the Only One
Released: April 14, 2014
Genre: Pop, soul
Writer(s): Sam Smith, James Napier, William Phillips
PEAK: #1 (UK)
Favorite Lyrics:
I have loved you for many years
Maybe I am just not enough
The Male Adele with his Someone Like You. This is my favorite track of Sam Smith, I never really got into Latch or Stay With Me him until this one mostly because Dianna Agron and Chris Messina but when I hear it I couldn't stop crying like Dianna on the video. |
| #39 Lily Allen - Our Time
Released: March 10, 2013
Genre: Synthpop
Writer(s): Lily Allen, Greg Kurstin
PEAK: #43 (UK)
Favorite Lyrics:
I can’t call in the morning
Dance a little harder
Lily has always been one of my favorite messy singers, I'm not saying she sings bad, they way she is, so messy like Rihanna (she's my #1) I feel like Sheezus wasn't really of an era, she didn't care about it. I'm still waiting the MV for As Long As I got You. Britney Jean Spears is undeniable. |
| #38 The Vamps - Somebody To You
Released: May 9, 2014
Genre: Pop
Writer(s): Carl Falk, Savan Kotecha, Kristian Lundin
PEAK: #4 (UK)
Favorite Lyrics:
All I want to be, yeah, all I ever want to be
Yeah, yeah, is somebody to you.
I was happy when I hear this was going to be their next single until I read they were going to add Demi on the it, her voice doesn't really match with Brad's. This is probably my favorite song of them and I can't wait to listen what they're going to bring in their next album, hopefully they'll release it next year and let Meet the Vamps rest |
| #37 Sigma - Changing (feat. Paloma Faith)
Released: September 14, 2014
Genre: Drum and bass
Writer(s): Peter Kelleher, Ben Kohn, Tom Barnes, Wayne Hector. Ella Eyre
PEAK: #1 (UK)
Favorite Lyrics:
This ain't real, this ain't cool
This ain't what I signed up too
The first time that I listened this one was a cover on The X Factor which was great but I hhad to hear the original version and I was blown away, this is also the first time that I give Paloma Faith a chance, a real chance to get into her and she's good. |
| #36 Tinashe - 2 On (feat. ScHoolboy Q)
Released: January 21, 2014
Genre: Electro-R&B
Writer(s): Tinashe Kachingwe, Quincy Hanley, Bobby Brackins. Nathan L. Walker. Dijon McFarlane, Jon Redwine, Marley Waters, Myron Birdsong. Sean Henriques. Troy Rami
PEAK: #24 (US)
Favorite Lyrics:
Live fast, die young that's my choice
Get money, get money like the invoice
I always wondered who this girl was, where did they take her from and why she had some threads here and she's amazing. Now she needs to release Dollar Signs and Far Side of the moon to make 2015 a better year for her music |
| #35 Ed Sheeran - All of the Stars
Released: May 9, 2014
Genre: Pop Rock
Writer(s): Ed Sheeran, Johnny McDaid
PEAK: #46 (UK)
Favorite Lyrics:
And I know these scars will bleed
But both of our hearts believe
All of these stars will guide us home
The Fault In Our Stars impact its here. This songs fits more for a female singer but he wrote it and did a great job with it, just listening to it right now it makes me remind the whole movie and I cry again. |
| #34 Fergie - L.A.LOVE (La La)
Released: September 29, 2014
Genre: West Coast hip hop
Writer(s): Fergie Duhamel, Dijon McFarlane, Shomari Wilson, Royce Thomas, Theron Thomas
PEAK: #27 (US)
Favorite Lyrics:
Every city, every state, every country you know
All around the globe
When Fergie released this I was expecting more, I was already tired of the La la thing, that I was into since like La La Love by Ivi Adamou. Now that I think about it she totally ripped of Ivi, she should expect her sue by now. That's how underrated is Queen Ivi |
| #33 Miley Cyrus - Adore You
Released: December 17, 2013
Genre: Pop
Writer(s): Stacy Barthe, Oren Yoel
PEAK: #21 (US)
Favorite Lyrics:
I love lying next to you
I could do this for eternity, you and me
Who can make a beautiful ballad and transform it into something totally sexual? You are right, I thought it was impossible but no, she could do it. I didn't watch the music video but she's a total mess for what she created of this emotional love song. |
| #32 The Saturdays - What Are You Waiting For?
Released: August 10, 2014
Genre: Dance-pop
Writer(s): Tons of writers.
PEAK: #38 (UK)
Favorite Lyrics:
Tonight we’re gonna party party party
Wanna see everybody move your body body body
Of course I wasn't going to forget my favorite flop girl group. This was meant to be a song for like Paris Hilton or Heidi Montag but The Saturdays snatched it and make it a Top 40 hit with it. I hope this wasn't the end of the group but it looks like it |
| #31 Austin Mahone - Mmm Yeah (feat. Pitbull)
Released: January 26, 2014
Genre: Dance-pop
Writer(s): Austin Mahone, Armando Pérez, Alex Schwartz, Joe Khajadourian, William Lobban-Bean, Ethan Lowery, Lamar Mahone, Keith Mayberry, Craig Simpkins & Lidell Townsell
PEAK: #49 (US)
Favorite Lyrics:
All that I could say was
Mmm Mmm yeah yeah
I'm sad this is the closest Austin has gone to get a hit, not even Top 20. I thought everyone was going to love but maybe on another time like spring or summer. This was my guiltiest pleasure of the year and I got all my friends into it |

I'm Not The Only One really is a beautiful ballad. The music video made me like it even more.
Somebody To You is a cute bop and I think adding Demi to the song was a great idea.
No, sis. Tinashe needs to release Feels Like Vegas and Bet.
All of the Stars reminds me a lot of the movie.
Adore You is oka. MMM Yeah is a guilty pleasure.

I love Miley's 'Adore You'. I wish she had given it a different video
Didn't feel Lily Allen, at all, this year and Tinashe's 2 On is obviously amazing.
