Funny how you have to compare Iggy to Macklemore's songs, instead of to Monster (ft. Rihanna) or Starships or to basically 50% of rap/hip-hop hits, that all rely on a catchy chorus
But people actually use songs by Eminem for the verses too, and they use songs by Iggy & Macklemore for the chorus only, so it's only fair to compare those two.

it's atrl and iggy's name is everywhere on here. plus, i used to stan (i still do but not as much as i used to) and one of my faves made her song a hit. fly, pound the alarm, va va voom, and check it out were popular WW. moment 4 life was a moderate success WW as well.
Super Bass has sold like 4.5 Million, right? Fancy will definitely get there and further.
Well i don't know how much it has sold by now. I only know that it was at 4+ Million early/mid last year in the US.
And i am sure Iggy will continue to sell. How much? We don't know.
Also international numbers (sales and streaming) should be improtant for this topic not only US numbers and i am not sure if Iggy can surpass Nicki internationally but we'll see
super bass. fancy is only big for the cute chorus. all the girls (and guys) at my school/in my family/etc would come up to me in 2011 bragging about how they could rap the first verse of super bass perfectly. nobody cares about the rap verses in fancy. it's literally a thrift shop/cant hold us 2.0. who cared about the verses apart from the 1st line?
What? whenever fancy comes on at a party everyone raps (or tries to rap) most or all of it. and i live in the uk where it only peaked at #5
This site is beginning to get embarrassing thanks to the delusion from some members. Fancy will be remembered longer. It really doesn't matter whether or not it's because of the chorus, like who cares? It's still Iggy's song. It will end up selling more, especially if streams are apparently counted ( ) And yes, a 7 week run at #1 is VERY impressive and something artists dream of.
At this rate, people will start claiming a 10 week run at #1 isn't impressive
I mean both are massive and IDK if Fancy will outsell Super Bass, but as of now, SB wins. Even though Fancy hit #1 on more charts, Super Bass has sold nearly 5 million in the US (the last reported was like what, 4.7M?) and the video has over 400 million views. I would be surprised if Fancy went 8x platinum like Super Bass. But with that said, anything is possible and whatever happens, I don't really care - congrats to both
Side note - at this point, SB and Fancy are definitely 2 of the most universally-rapable songs, so the argument of "people rap Super Bass not Fancy" or "people only care about Fancy's chorus" are false (and that's coming from a Nicki stan)
The reason its sales aren't higher is because it didn't have much build up, it literally flew up the Hot 100 in less than 3 months But the overall delusion in this thread
Fancy will not sale more than Super Bass the peak of Fancy don't matter.
But Fancy has already sold more than half of SuperBass and it hasn't finished charting.
Superbass didn't sell 4 million at #1 you know. It was in the Top 50 for almost a year.
If streams would have counted in Super Bass' time, it would have been #1 for SEVERAL weeks. It was the most streamed song of that year, and was in the Guinnes World Records book for it. Plus it sold almost 5mill and has more than 400mill views.
Just go and watch Nicki's 4th of July Jam performance. She opened with SB and the crowd went CRAZY.
