I've never really seen evidence of this (please post some pics or correct me if I'm wrong). I've always felt Katy dressed pretty eclectic and kitsch (I don't mean that negatively at all)... definitely not weird. I guess its like apples and oranges depending on who you ask. Didn't Gaga and Katy come out at the same time though pretty much?

Gaga definitely goes against the grain for the most part, you cannot dispute that... yet I'm seeing people say that in this thread. I mean everyone goes on and on about how Born This Way was alienating for people. It was unapologetically Gaga and everything she preaches. ARTPOP was certainly not a huge evolution or what it should have been but a lot of the imagery lived up to Gagas usual thing... Aura, Venus, ARTPOP, etc...
Then look at what she did next; a Jazz album in a time where Jazz music is the least marketable it has ever been.

Is the conclusion some people have made on this site that just because her last pop album wasn't amazingly well planned out or executed, she's no longer anti-trend? Everything else she has done or continues to do is suddenly moot?
