Not really true. Latino isn't race it's and ethnicity. There's tons of white Latinos. Look at those Mexican novellas on Univision, in fact most of Latino media is dominated by whites.
What Latinos need to do is show their diversity and show the world they are not just the people you see on tv, and are also not the stereotypical illegal immigrant. They come in many colors, shapes and sizes. It's also great to try and break the fetishization the media has created with Latinos.
This day has been so amazing with the spread of love and acceptance. Even though some people continue to stay ignorant with there "Blackout is racist!!!", I think the majority of people understand the importance of this movement and that's what matters.
