"Hard Candy" is a mediocre album regardless of how successful her tour was. Her name, legendary reputation, and performance skills sold the tour.

That's not was I was "reevaluating". I'm just saying that even though some people didn't necessarily like the album, it didn't stop people from going out to see her and make her even more successful than she's ever been.

I LOVE all of Solvieg's work, especially his work with Martina Sorbara from Dragonette (Hello, Boys & Girls). Plus she's worked with Orbit, who when paired with Madonna has never gone wrong. Plus, the Benassi boys on are board. It's already way more promising than Hard Candy ever was, even with just an okay lead single.

Coolness. Madonna can release mediocre material because she will have success regardless. That must be a fantastic position to be in.

I think it's useful to stick to an analysis of the material itself rather than rationalizing away about how it's okay for a song or album to be weak because she is "even more successful than she's ever been."

Had any other artist released this same song, it would not have received anywhere near the same amount of recognition.

I had overwhelmingly high hopes, because Madonna is one of my favorite artists. I'm actually hoping this is just a teaser for the album and that the truly exceptional material will follow with the 2nd single.

Madonna is one of my favorite artists as well, and I'm not necessarily blown away either. But then again, I don't feel like it was her intention with this song to "blow people away". I know it's her intention to be successful, but idk. I just feel like she wanted to put out a cute song. Unfortunately I feel like cute reads as laziness when it comes to her only because she's done such deeper and more thought provoking stuff before.

Like I said...the producers on this album are amazing and stellar and it's already shaping up better than Hard Candy. I'm not worried. And to be quite honest...I highly doubt she is either.

We'll see. I actually liked the previews of "Girls Gone Wild" and "Turn Up The Radio" a lot (more than "Give Me All Your Luvin'").

I want to believe "GIve Me All Your Luvin'" was specifically created for the Superbowl.

I do like some of the commentary in the actual music video, though, specifically the baby tossing scene. She's well aware that she's a victim of many agist comments. I absolutely hate every time someone says that she should act more like her age. She's obviously in amazing shape and very youthful.

Just keeping my fingers crossed that the other songs on the album are much stronger.

The song is honestly horrid except for the verses. It's the kind of song that belongs in a Target commercial. The "L-U-V" **** ruins it. The video is a better episode of Glee. At least she looked wonderful in it though.

No matter what song she released, people will still complain about it. That's just the way it goes. You can never please everyone. The song is not up to her usual, innovative standards, but it's good enough for me. It's a cool song.
