She does indeed sound a bit like Katy on that song and it's not just because Katy co-wrote it. I still love it though.

I love hook up and it's a catchy song but somehow it just didn't connect with the AI. It went top 10 on pop and sold about 700k but honestly imo the first three singles were the most radio friendly on the album.

These songs were the only songs that had a potential semi-hit or smash in them :

1. My life Would Suck
2. I Do Not Hook Up
3. Already Gone
4. Don't Let Me Stop You
5. If I Can't Have You

The Day We Fell Apart is amazinggg, I would have loved that as a second single but I can imagine that it would be kinda hard for Kelly to sing since she had problems with Don't Let Me Stop You.

ETA: I forgot "I Want You" that song could have been a summer hit.

I actually thought the original lyric was dumb, lol. I don't think she cares what other people think; I mean she's implied that stuff before Never Again "I hope when you're in bed with her, you think of me." Chivas "I'll take the chivas instead, over your bed/ it wasn't even good, trust me"

I think the meaning of the song was different for her. It became more about quality over quantity.

Agreed, I was so glad she changed it. Having Katy's original lyrics makes it and I mean NO SHADE for this, but it makes it seem more childish.

I think the problem with AIEW was the fact that RCA got lazy after its release. I mean, coming off a no.1 hit does give the album promo, but it lost steam so much, especially when she practically stopped promoting after IDNHU and AG. The only reason why AG was such a hit because it had amazing longevity because it was a great song. IDNHU on the other hand, isn't that great, and nothing else on the album would've done as well with a video and one or two performances.

They need to keep the promo rolling not just think "hey we gave it a push, its up to the world now" its called get off ur butts and keep pushing that promo and MAKE people remember that the album is still out there and has not dropped off the earth.

Well, it really depends. If there are other potential worthy singles on stronger which we know have like ify, lmd, ds it may still be a successful hit. And i guess one reason they release mkia as the lead single is because it DID NOT leaked. wdky leaked months before mkia was released as the lead single so i guess before wdky leaked, its possible that kelly might want it to be the lead single too.

I love Long Shot & I Do Not Hook Up. And I think RCA picked the better one for a single.

It was still the wrong choice though. They should have been Beyonce to the punch & put Already Gone out second. Then If I Cant Have You, Dont Let Me Stop You & Cry.

Nah Already Gone would still be the bigger hit if Cry was released. Cry is to country. Very glad it wasn't released to pop. It should have been released to country though.
