So Aly&Aj or 78Violet, how ever you want to address them by, released their first official single from their new group name, and this indie-inspired song is amazing. I use to love their album Insomatic, and have always thought they were amazing at making music (Potential Break Up Song still sounds fresher then a lot of songs released today). This song is very different from their old sound, and I love it, I love the direction they are going with this. The "yoouuu oooh ooh" and tone of the whole song is so haunting and creepy. It gives such an interesting aura. I can't wait to hear what else they put out.
Best Played: I took a hike once to this field, and listened to this song and omgggg it was magic.
Namie's second appearance (and final in my Best Songs), she really out did herself with this album, well she always does. There are IMO better songs then Big Boys Cry on the entire album (but we'll get to those later ) but this just had me bopping all year, like her previous song from this count down "La La La" its such a fun pop song, that you can play anytime and get a good vibe from. Many times I found myself playing this song to get a rush of good energy.
I didn't pay attention to this song a lot at first, but then it kept getting stuck in my head so I went back to listen and it slayed me so much. It gives me such a big sense of adventure and being lost, but its so calming to listen too. I would always listen to when ever I would talk random walks to clear my head, and it was so great, it puts you some where else, and that's what I love so much about this song. You can get lost in it.
I LOVE the beginning of this song, it caught my attention right away, and it set the overall tone for the entire song. Sugar is so different from any of what else is on Utopia, and it reminds me a lot of what she would do on her first album. Now I don't know what the hell Bubble Goth ever was or is, but if it was supposed to sound like something, I hope it would sound like this. Such a sweet and creepy song, its a shame her music career never took off, she's much more better at showing her art then this certain Pop star
Best Played: I can't think of anything for this one, just listen.
When I first heard this, it was from her fetus performances, and this had a much more poppier sound, and then when I found out it was going to be on the album I was super excited, and I was even more excited when I heard what she did with it. She took it from a pop song to this heartfelt R&B/Pop soulful song, and I loved every minute of it. Probably my favorite song from the entire album. I love the lyrics, the sound, her vocals, everything about it is just perfection.
Best Played: Baby you know how to drive in rainnnnn
Who knew so many people on ATRL would be fans of Pokemon. I didn't, until the Pokemon Base kept growing and growing with more people. We eventually ended up being the biggest thread in the lounge, and had the most views as well, I mean OUR POWER? When will the other fan bases
The ATRL Pokemon Base has made playing Pokemon X this year so much more fun, and we've become our own level of messy :')
