Born This Way. Teenage dream is a great pop album though, I think it's just really generic though but it works. I don't see any reason why it should be downplayed.
Two years and it still hasn't surpassed BTW in sales and BTW's tour is going to outgross TD's tour with dates in just two legs.

An opinion = how someone feels. If someone feels a certain way because of critics, then that's still an opinion.

Plus, the person I was replying to, did not say his opinion was affected at all. He made the argument that BTW is better solely because of critics. That's all he said. He then backed it up by saying this thread isn't about opinion.

Katy is not an album artist, she's a singles artist. Plus, she is much more local than Lady Gaga, of course TD sold less than BTW. That does not mean its an inferior album.

May I remind you that three of TD's singles were remixed and discounted to $0.69 in order to push them to #1? 400,000 of the 6,100,000 who have bought the album, bought it for $0.99 and every album was paid for in full by Amazon. Try again.

The OP asked for the better album, not which one you think is better. I gave my thought and backed it up.
btw sales were frontloaded and most of it was hype from her first couple eras. if born this way had been gagas first album we all know the results would have been alot different!

I didn't say that it was inferior to it though did I? I'm talking about what was discussed above. The argument was that since BTW was sold for .99 cents for two days that, that is the reason why it's higher. If you really think about it TD should be higher than BTW if you consider time released, not popularity. That is all i'm saying. Teenage Dream is a good pop album, but my opinion is that Born this way is better.
I love Katy and Teenage Dream, but Born This Way is a little better in my opinion. Katy has the advantage that all her songs are catchy and there are none on the album I dislike, as opposed to Gaga's which has "You and I", but the songs I like from BTW I like more than those from TD on average. Both are in my top 10 albums ever, though.
