I personally didn't want him to win. Not because he's a WGWG, but because I found him mediocre. I actually think that with the right material and push, both he and Jessica could be successful. Obviously, the flip side is that they both could easily flop.
I do think his immediate response is also helped by the fact that his coronation song isn't shmaltzy or cheesy like the others.
Horrible, horrible time for music.
