People crave for a different female to carry on a teen-eage tune.

I know it isn't really related (mostly because Carly actually isn't a teen like Britney was) but that song has the light and breezy flair of Baby One More Time, as far as target goes.

Except that BOMT was actually a sort of "sad" song, while this one is bold and confident.

It's gonna get interesting. Public is clearly very receptive and I'm curious to see if she will really hit number one (she has a high hill to climb yet, and we will see if she can sustain her lead, but Summer is Unpredictable )

I wonder how Bieber's second single is going to fare.

It should premier in a little while and we know that has the power to shake up iTunes and erase leads in a matter of hours (Imagine if the duet with him and Usher, or him and Drake, would drop in the incoming ten days? That'd be a factor for sure).
