What kind of hot mess this Forbes list is anyway ?
$29M, high social/web/radio rank vs some $7M. I'm done!

So, since Forbes uses Pollstar, then Rihanna made no less than 90M last year,
|
Tour gross =/= artist gross, that's what I was talking about
Otherwise explain this
Monsterball Tour Box office - $227.4 million
Gaga 2010 earnings according to Forbes - $90 million
http://www.forbes.com/2011/05/16/lad...ty-100-11.html
I know big chunk of MBT was not in 05.2010-05.2011 Forbes but even dividing it by half it gives more than $100 million. Then she had album/single sales, revenues from airplay, endorsements etc.

Shut up All the girls names were brought up, Katy and Gaga first actually, because this thread is about Rihanna being underpaid compared to other worldwide singers.

I really have NO IDEA how this Forbes list is working.
It's like someone is paying Forbes for Rihanna to not appear on the list.

Oh my god, I still can't believe people take this **** so seriously on here. People really need to understand that Forbes is a respectable publication that reports cold hard business fact - this, however, is not part of that. It's a fluff piece outside their forte created to draw interest from outside consumers/publications.
Perhaps most of you aren't aware of that fact because you've never opened the magazine in your life
They have no idea how much Rihanna makes, every contract is different, and they aren't gonna find out by talking to unnamed random people in the industry. Use common sense.

Rihanna probably is not underpaid... she makes less than Katy and Gaga because she does less than Katy and Gaga.

She doesn't write, she doesn't produce, and she's backed by LA Reid. So consequently she has a low royalty rate. Her tours do well, but she has to pay all her writers and publishers EVERY time she performs a song she didn't write - which constitutes of 75% of her set list. I would safely assume that most of her money comes from her endorsements.
It has always been questionable that she has produced a number of hits and sold consistently, but still manages to make less than Britney, Gaga, and Beyonce (on break) per Forbes. Hell even Katy Perry topped her a year or so ago and she hadn't sold as many albums as Rihanna.
If you wanna see where Rihanna will be in 5-10 years, just look at Toni and TLC.

. The reason why Beyonce tops Forbes is because she writes and produces (co) all of her songs and she has other things going on like movies and perfumes which sell well.

Alright, I’ll give you that. Instead of saying that Forbes figures will coincide with Pollstar’s reported tour gross numbers, I will say that Forbes figures will coincide with what the artist was paid for each show while on tour. If you look at the LGOE wiki, it says that Rihanna played 67 shows on LGOE. Based on her tour rider, Rihanna made no less than 400K a show, which, when you do the math, is a little under 27M. Forbes Top Celebs under 30 list said she made 29M. I’ve heard that Ri’s fee went up for LOUD tour, and she got no less than 450K a show. So, using that number, I’ll guess that Forbes will report (should Rihanna actually make the list this year) that the figure will be around 45-50M.

Britney wasn’t on Forbes last year either. So how do you know she made more than Rihanna? Britney should be on the list this year because she toured. And Rihanna doesn’t make most of her money from endorsements. Maybe, at one point she did, like during GGGB era before getting beaten by Chris Brown. Rihanna didn’t make 29M off of endorsements. She made it, mostly off of LGOE tour, and if she makes Forbes list this year, it will be because of what she made on LOUD tour.
