Oct/Nov 2010 was when Katy started doing all her Firework promo. December 2010 was when it hit #1. Fits exactly into the tracking period.

The whole splitting sales thing is a weak argument. For example, Grenade was released during the same time period as Firework and did manage to make the IFPI top 10. In fact, it either topped the list or was somewhere else high. I could give you the exact receipts if you liked
