But film studios usually do a lot of research with the public before releasing movies. I read that there were screening as well in 2011. Maybe their research showed that it wouldn't be popular enough to cover marketing costs. Tons of movies never get made or released though.

Yeah it's weird. Even in the bigger cities, it didn't do that well per theatre. I mean, I get there was no promo but at least her fans would know about it and it should have done better. Or maybe I'm reaching still.
