It's between Lea and Mercedes. Santana can't compete with their power and notes on a technical scale. I don't really care if you think the other two have a better tone or a more interesting vocal color. That's personal bias and not at all conclusive at a technical level. Regardless Lea is top two if not the best singer on that show, that much is a fact. That's why they give her all the solo's, because she has the range to tackle them.

Naya is amazing too. She has the more distinct tone of the three, but I don't think they've given her tracks to really show what she can do. She gives me some Brandy teas and they need to give her more songs that show off her lower register (which both Lea and Amber struggle in)

DEATH. She has twice the range Beyonce does. She is one of Broadway's rising stars. She gave her all and it was solid. But I will say that it lacked a slight dept that Beyonce managed to invoke for this track. But that will come with experience. Lea did very well.

No. Lies. I LOVE Santana but the girl has limitations. If you noticed, she has yet to sing a true ballad where her vocals are truly put to the test. No sustained notes and she always has a touch of auto-tuned. Santana might have been able to get away by doing this as a duet by starting the song and doing the lower harmony but this song really did belong to Lea.
