How dare this thread slip to page two... 
Hahahaha I think we need something new to discuss other than possible singles after DS, it's obvious that conversation on that subject has been WAY overdone.
Anyways, it's been strongly speculated on KCE (yes, I lurk there...) that Idol isn't allowing Kelly to perform this year. It seems like it could be because of Duets, which although won't be competing with Idol, will be directly in competition with So You Think You Can Dance, and Nigel (a judge on SYTYCD) is one of the executive producers on Idol.
Kelly said she would be filming the Idol performance and was in LA for the taping a while back, but then that fell through for some unknown reason and we haven't heard anything since...

Damn it! Kelly need a high profile performance to boot the album sales at this time.

I don't know why is this happening they seem pressed about Kelly being on Duets 
I'm freaking mad right now, it's like they want to remove Kelly as part of AI and make Carrie the queen.

It was never officially scheduled that we know of. Kelly said once in an interview that she would probably do the new single on AI, and MJ's blog reported she was going to tape a performance but that's not official. It was just a rumor..
And **** idol. They can suck on it.

Yeah, kinda wierd that Kelly said she'd be performing on Idol this season and we have yet to hear anything?

tbh its probably just the timing. Kelly is heavily invested in duets & the dates don't work out. Even if she doesn't appear, as long as idol does a dedication for her lll be happy...
Ill hunt them down if not

There's still hope she will perform at the finale, they haven't announced any other performers for the finale yet. They usually have at least a few past winners appear/perform at the finale show, and so far all of the major ones will have performed (Kris, David, Carrie, Scotty).
Maybe she was scheduling something for earlier but then Dark Side's release got pushed back so they wanted to save the performance for closer to the adds date?

Yep, I'm mad that Carrie, Scotty, Kris, David, Adam, Jennifer, Daughtry performed/will perform and Kelly probably won't. But as you said, the other performers for the finale weren't announced yet. I still hope Kelly will perform at the finale. And I also thought of saving the performance for later because of pushing back the single.

That's just like the KCE to speculate and make Kelly a victim/spread false rumors. i doubt idol is intentionally keeping her from performing. 
1. Kelly said they may perform the new single on Idol, not that she was definitely doing it. There was no set date for her to record.
2. And even if they are, do we not remember the commercial Kelly did mocking Idol?
3. Do we Not remember the show not only allowing the contestants to ing two Kelly songs, but weren't they even chosen BY the show for the contestants to sing?
