I get what you're saying, and obviously you're right that darker hair creates imagery that more blatantly portrays a somber theme, but our point is that we loved the blond hair because Kelly made it believable whilst breaking the mold. There was also a very interesting contrast with the hair color and darker themes, which was very eerie.
