I'm the opposite, lol. I'd rather she be on the finale instead of a regular week. During a regular results night they just sing and talk for a bit, since it's only an hour long. But with the finale they have to kill two hours. If there's some type of tribute... like the contestants singing a medley of her songs or a short video of her journey on Idol and what she's achieved after Idol, I don't think her performance would get lost in the finale chaos.
I think people would be more like wow it's been 10 years and it all started with Kelly. Kind of like starting the new decade with the girl who started it all. I almost feel like this year Idol has gone down the nostalgia and "Idol is the only show that creates stars" route that they'd be crazy not to have Kelly on at some point!
She was rumored to have taped something a few weeks back, but for whatever reason that didn't happen. I think we're all hoping she'll perform at some point this season, so we're trying to figure out the available slots left.
But I'm glad Lea is singing it. Only her voice fits. I hope the song will sound better in context of the story
