I've been questioning about that too. Since when is members of Country HoF are not members of Opry too (well, some of them)? I thought Mother Church of Country music supposed to be the most legit institution.

I don't respect the Opry at all I once heard that you normally get in if you perform alot but Johnny Cash performed a ton there so Idk maybe he pissed some of the members off with his attitude but I've never understood why its so respected to be an Opry member

Precisely. But as Kyle of SCM has pointed out. It is where Country music was born. It's the mother church. Why are they left those Country legends? I thought they want Country music to move on and keeping up with time, but why are they alienating Prog.Country/Americana/Alt-Country? They are moving on without leaving the tradition. That's the right way to improve. NOT trying to clone those '80s arena acts.

Can't we restore the purity of Opry? I want it to be the most respected institution once again. People that really made impact in Country music get inducted. Not just 'home' acts.

I'm losing hope. Really. Hank Sr. hasn't been reinstated till now, even tho the news about has been out since last year. If they didn't get to be inducted at their prime, why would they be inducted when they're done?

Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts. All got it before Hank Sr., Johnny Cash, and Willie Nelson. Shame on you, Opry. I personally think the CMA people should take care about Opry. They got it right with the Country Hall, and they can't close their eyes at those ****ery that's happening right now.
