And even if it WAS only one, that doesn't change the fact that what you said

The biggest praise the song got was "a sugary dance-pop tune" with "catchy hooks".

Is a lie. Something you seem to be doing quite often in this thread to try and prove your nonsensical point.

And so far you points in this thread are:

There's no such thing as "proving one song is better". It's all down to personal taste. For god sake, you should know this **** before you turn 10.

Both of which are obvious truths, the former of which was a throwaway tongue-in-cheek comment, the latter of which is obvious to anybody who has the brain cells to recognise that music is subjective and nobody's opinion is above anybody else's.
Now, I am currently waiting for you to provide evidence that the critical consensus of 'Call Me Maybe' is that it is boring and generic, as you stated here

And for evidence in this thread that I think my opinion is more important and superior than everybody else's, as you stated here

So what you are saying right now is that, in any given award category, the winner of that award is factually and objectively the best? Genuinely confused.
Also didn't I see you in the Britney vs Taylor thread, bashing Taylor who has huge critical praise, whilst defending Britney, who has significantly less? Surely the critics know more than you, and therefore you must admit that Taylor >>> Britney?
EDIT: Yes I did. Your post:

Britney remains more talented and globally successful.

You weren't so interested in critical consensus there, were you? Interesting.

if she didn't make that disgusting "it's a woman's fault that she gets raped"-type comment when she first started out, I'd be on her side.

A grammy is to recognise the success of a musician. Just because someone doesn't get a grammy doesn't mean their music isn't liked by people. Adele has won about 50+ awards, but I'm not a fan of her music. Does that render my opinion irrelevant? No. Does it render her music bad? No.
It's just my opinion. Quite like it's obviously the majority of people's opinions that her music is good.

You're just a pretentious kid trying to be the king of every discussion. I'm tired of this, for real.
And Wikipedia isn't a proper receipt, they only posted the good reviews of the song. We can only trust Metacritic for it, because they post all the reviews. So you and me can be wrong.
Goodbye.

When albums like Teenage Dream are nominated for album of the year, they dont mean much - just extra promo

They are obvious truths. It is an obvious truth that the former is my opinion. It is an obvious truth that the latter is fact, unless you think music is objective. Which it isn't.
And yes, of the two of us it is me who is pretentious, when I am arguing that everybody's opinion is equal and you are arguing that critics' opinions are superior.
Goodbye. Nice talking to you!

And I agree, but someone right above you is quick to call critics opinion irrelevant, and yet is just as quick to use the Grammys as receipts to prove someone is more talented than other.

I assume we're not talking about me, as I certainly never said the former and don't recall ever saying the latter.

I didn't see anyone do that. If I did, though, it wouldn't matter, because it wasn't me and you're responding to my point.

She did? What exactly did she say? I love her music but that's a bit sad...

I love Call Me, Maybe.
There's nothing wrong with Call Me, Maybe as a song, even the lyrics. The lyrics is like a straight up story (not that La Roux's music isn't a story). The song is very straight forward. Catchy. Simple. It's Pop.
It's better than LMFAO and other things.

Not surprising!! I remember her comments about rape and her somewhat rude comments about Madonna.

She didn't have to be such a bitch about Carly.
If she thinks music on the radio is bad she could have said so without naming names. I won't even go into that ****** attitude she has about the current state of music, when she's not even doing anything noteworthy right now to "save" the music industry that she thinks so desperately needs saving.
