i think nowadays direct payola is illegal at least that's what someone told me.
They can make a deal with all clear channel stations, but i'm not sure if that would work. Usually these songs rise fast for one week and then decrease fast too

IMO, get back and laland would have gone top 25 on radio while HWGA would have gone top 10 on radio, RD could have gone top 20, and the unbroken singles could have all gone top 10,

yeah and that's the problem. A bad timing can destroy the whole effect of the promotion.

I remember when Rob was complaining how promo didn't work well for Unbroken this time but yet she didn't have promo back then but still sold good.
I just thought of it and I think its because she released a new album 2 years later, she LOST her momentum and its like, she had to start all over.

I really think clear channel deals are only good if your trying to get a #1 debut, if not it kills a songs radio longevity

true, i never really thought of it that way.
She still has her usual 50k-100k fans who buy the album in the first week. And that's why the first week sales for Unbroken were good, but then she dropped. Most people who bought HWGA and DF either moved on or completely forgot about her. She needs to work herself back in the music business.
She was lacking in consistency with her career, which is kinda one of the worst things you can do (just like for the promotion)

lol i even remember people thinking she could do 250k because the songs on the album went so high on iTunes.
But then again, she sold 50k digitally which is A LOT!!
she could've done better if they would've had more albums in stock
