Let's not even go there; the one whistle note she hit was horrendous. Mariah is pretty much the only prominent singer in history to have perfect control of
all parts of her voice - whistle, head, chest, lower register and even the "whisper register" that she invented. Kelly is a phenomenal vocalist but they aren't in the same league.
Anyway, yes, she is extremely versatile. But I can't say I've ever been particularly convinced when she's singing RnB/Soul/Blues. She can add runs, but she has never been able to properly adapt her voice and add the soul needed to
properly pull off those genres IMO. I think it's that her voice has a gritty quality to it where it should be more smooth and flowing.
