Right. But I hasten to point out that that song was the exception at the time--people tore into it as an example of what was wrong with the industry at the time. Not that I ever agreed... The "decline of music" has only ever been as valid as the "decline of marriage."

Oh, I generally agree, although I would say my personal taste veers more toward the music that's dominating now as opposed to what was all the rage in 02-05.
I can honestly say that I wasn't here for D4L, Mims, Hurricane Chris and a lot of those hip hop-dance acts of that time period, and they were the reasons I wanted that type of music to fade. Though they weren't a huge representation of the music of that era.
The popular girls are on break, but it's nice to see new/breakthrough acts slipping through the cracks (if that's what it is).

It's a shame Jason Mraz couldn't manage longevity and more sucess for I Won't Give Up, I remember when the song was selling a lot in its first week, and it was a thing nobody expected! I thought it would go to Top 10 after he decreased a lot because of radio but it didn't pick up that well there..
