Because Gaga isn't focusing on having hit records, she's focusing on ensuring her career as a pop musician for years and years to come. For example, instead of working with hot producers for her next #1 album, she opened her own charity to help people. Things like that improve her reputation as not only a musician, but a political figure as well. What Gaga is doing might not help her right now, but it will help her in the future.

It doesn't need to because a $150 ticket > $10 album.
This whole "Gaga has to sell as much as her debut in order to be good" debate is illogical.

Lies, she said it would be the greatest album of all times, of a generation. We all know how that turned out.

And that will sell an extra 9,000,000 copies of Born This Way?
The tour will help I'm sure, but you shouldn't expect a massive uptick in sales
What's gonna happen when Adele goes on tour?

To be honest, even though that's something that you dislike. It's something that she's become successful and known for. She's standing up for many peoples right. No, all her fans are not gay teens who need help with their self-esteem but hell she's fighting for a cause. That's way more than a lot of other pop stars ever will do. She's making a mark on the culture as a whole not just 'pop' culture.

Yeah, and I think the era would be kinda like "Loud" The music won't appease everyone, but it will be fun, still Gaga and succesful

That said, you can't consider it a steady decline if there are only three pieces of work. We'll need to see where her fourth album/piece of work goes before we can call it a steady decline.

It was an early peak. Britney Spears had a similar one and she's still relevant today. I know you love trolling Gaga, but c'mon Vin you know just as well as I do that it's still too early to tell.

I guess we'll just have to see what happens with her next release. BTW was an obvious risk but it didn't totally bomb; she can certainly rebound from it.

She can still be successful but it's delusional to think she'll ever attain the utter cultural takeover that she achieved with The Fame (Monster).

But I'm not going to keep bumping the thread of someone who should be more worried about how 6 smash Gagaesque singles from the Luke & Martin factory + a re-release couldn't sell 2.5M albums WW.

That's my point

Yes . She needs to reinvent herself and stop trying to make albums that are going to "change pop music", because it comes across as forced and the GP see right through it. She just needs to take some time out, think things through. BTW was successful enough, but anybody who says she smashed with this era is delusional. The singles were popular but quickly forgotten about (except BTW) and the GP's fascination with her has declined. I remember back in 09\10, people used to talk about her all the time, not anymore, people no longer find the crazy outfits fascinating anymore. I know she can do it, she's super talented. She just needs to stop forcing her music, and let it flow naturally. That way, the music will be more real. She can do it, its Gaga afterall.

She said that to her fans at her concert.
She did not say it would be the greatest of all time or even the album of the decade for everyone.

Do we really need to go over this again?
