people who hate Justin but love the song because he sounds more mature and it reminds them of Timberlake.
How come you're asking others to take your opinion seriously when you bring up this kind of arguments?
Justin Bieber has always been a gimmick. He's 18 years old now, the fact that his voice finally changed (which should've happened like 5 years ago) doesn't proove anything at all. If anything he should be thanking the producers...
Ah, that's right, I forgot about "Miles". Thanks for that.
Another interesting fact: The Who and Zeppelin both had one top ten hit each. Bieber already has one more than The Who and Zeppelin COMBINED.

Two counter-points: Susan Boyle and Michael Buble. I know that they're not conventional big music names when compared to Rihanna/Britney/Gaga/KP/etc., but Boyle has sold about 20 million albums worldwide and Buble 30. Have either even came CLOSE to a #1 hit? Not even.
#1 singles are important, absolutely. But they are not even the be-all/end-all now.
Oh, and while times ARE different now, it's not as if being #1 wasn't important then, either. In fact, when it comes to the Hot 100 during their era, sales were the only thing taken into account. Radio did not impact the Hot 100 until decades later, and streaming...well, obviously.
You two, let them learn about those tiny bits by themselves. It's more entertaining looking them all upset, saying others are 'hating'.
Can't they learn one thing or two from the legendary acts & music history?
I don't know why people are so pressed over the streaming. The fact is that a lot of people are abandoning buying songs in favour of streaming them on spotify, so it would be stupid not to take that into account if Billboard really are looking for a fair, balanced chart.
And the likelihood is that had Juz10 added his to spotify and co. it probably would've taken numbers from his itunes tally.
So many people I know have mentioned Midnight City but are completely oblivious to Boyfriend and Part of Me and Starships and those types of songs.
This streaming rule leads to a more accurate reflection of the songs that people are listening to - it's not all about what's hot on iTunes and pop radio.
I belong to this group of people to be honest.
If it's not because of ATRL being excited for Bieber's song, I may will never learn about it. And just because people buying songs by fun. or Gotye, doesn't mean that they are bandwagon-ers. It's called as 'discovering new acts' (to some who tried to sell the concept of loving indie acts as bandwagoning. ).
It's all fated I guess. Im pretty sure he will get that #1 soon in the upcoming weeks? The music video will definitely give it a boost it needs and I'm sure by then way would have start dropping in sales already.
