I'll never understand why they released it on a Friday. She got robbed of the biggest first week ever in the US, number one in the UK, Italy and many other countries (sales are usually counted starting from Monday).

I think Gaga just got overexcited, to be honest. And given how the label were letting her do what she wanted at the start of the era, they probably just went along with it.
