Queen Latifah doing movies, musicals (also movies), voice overs (also movies) is not the same thing. The fact that she uses that as her main argument

Atleast Queen Latifah was good at what she did
Lets be honest
Nicki
Can
Not
Sing.
I liked Nicki back when she rapped with credibility and had nice lyrics. I love Romans Revenge. Point being, stop singing, start rapping

Both still did something more mainstream to make a name for themselves. It doesn't matter what you think is artistic.
I don't like Nicki's approach at all, but I can't be biased.
|
Then I guess we'll see what they choose to be singles. I mean, if its starships + everything from the second half the album, the fact that she rapped on RR is irrelevant.

She has, but given the history of female rap and Nicki's statements about going into acting, starting a family & leaving the rap game behind, I don't see how she will "outlast" Lil Kim. It doesn't even seem like a priority at this point. It seems like she has her future already planned out.

I have/had issues with her and I don't have the itch to go in a thread and discuss it being that I know I'm going to get irritated being around all those opposing opinions. Even if there were many agreeing with me, it's such a feeling of slight disappointment that I went out of my way to do all that for what? So I can feel like I personally got 1-Up on her?

I've seen you in gaga threads before though.

Mine has always done a genre of pop. If you're talking about the christian CD that was way back when it hardly counts. Her parents surely wasn't having her singing anything other then.

I understand that but she still had to fit the mold of "pop star" in order to become relevant. When she finally had power then she completely changed her image and sound. The point is it's impossible for any fan to say that gaga was being completely authentic the whole way through when she does a complete 180 as soon as she gets the chance to do so.
So basically gaga stans can

At least she was fake in the beginning and then switched to something real and better.
I don't even like her atm, she (and her fans hehee) has gotten on my nerves but it's true, she went in a better direction.

Cause it's such an accomplishment to outlast the queen of paypal nowadays?

LMAOOOOOOO WHERE?! And if I happen to, it was ONE THREAD including a VERY SHORT, sweet, positive response.
UPDATE: Nope. Never posted in a Gaga thread aside from the "Nicki Minaj responds to Lady Gaga Copycat Claims" thread. And my post was short and sweet:

Regardless of what you might think constrained Katy from releasing the material she is releasing now, that's hardly enough of a reason to excuse it as being something that 'hardly counts.' If so, the same general idea of social constraint could be applied to Nicki during her come-up days. The point is that from the start, Nicki has mentioned that she would one day be entertaining people with something other than just rap.

Considering the queen of paypal's career started in 1995 and lasted a good ten years, I would say so. Kim's washed up now, but not many females have managed to last as long as she did. I think someone like Nicki would be proud to last ten years in the game. But that's not really the point. You don't seem to know much about Nicki or female hip hop.

Is she trying to deny the fact that she's a sellout
Artists don't get popular today without selling out.

The point I wanna make is she is trying to sing and rap when she can't sing...plus her raps now-a-days are seriously dull and the lyrics are..well..wow...as far as Katy goes, I've defend her too many times to give a damn what people think because no one believes me. I know the truth when I hear it and Katy speaks nothing but the truth. My friend has met her (she's a cousin of johnny wujack or whatever her annoying designers name is) 3 times and said she is the nicest person she's ever met.
I will stan for Katy till the day I die.

When people call her a sell-out, it's because of the stuff she did before she released Pink Friday.

THIS

I agree, all artist have sold out. Katy has sold out to a point too, I wont deny. They all want their chance at being famous. Katy said she could've went one way but didn't want to be the "indie darling" because people would never hear of her. I hope for Nicki's and Katy's sake they'll go back to a slower pace for their third releases

Those songs are very much pop. She may not be singing on them, but they were basically targeted to the pop market. They aren't hardcore hip hop, that's for sure.

I straight up hate katy, but I dont think she's a sellout. Not only that, but there's a HUGE age gap between her christian **** and now. Nicki has a 3 year-old gap between her mixtape and now. There's no excuse.
