The world of pop is hugely fickle. Sure, popstars have their core fanbases, but outside of those, people will buy albums if they like the singles and can get passionate about the artist. As long as Gaga continues inspiring people and releases commercial singles with her next album, she will do fine.
In fifteen years when our adopted kids' generation sees Gaga as an oldie like people see 90s artists now. Will be so weird.

This will happen. There will continue to be artists like Gaga who show up every 25 years or so who are the biggest artist since a certain other from years previous. When it happens 25 years from now, people will be comparing her to Gaga without a mention of Madonna...
