No, her urban fanbase contributed to a LOT of PF's success. People act as if 35 year-old ghetto people bopped to Nicki. Her fanbase has alway been around 14-25, 30 tops and I'd say she hasnt alienated those people because her fanbase also listens to Rihanna, Katy, Ke$ha, etc. So they probably still bop to her dance tracks. People act like fanbases dont share the same people and as soon as a person changes up their style that their legit fans will release them...Real fans support an artist and grow with them no matter what. Fickle fans wanna hear the same thing from an artist until somebody comes along with fresher material.
I'm sure if Beyonce did Dance music or ventured into Rap you'd still support her and stan. If not then I see exactly why your logic is how it is.
