Yeah. While Gaga is a talented musician, she really is in the wrong genre. I know many people who comment that she "wastes her talent" on "THAT kind of music".

Nicki made more of a splash in the industry. But they're not going to give that award to popular artists ever again, I think They've never really recovered credibility from Milli Vanilli being awarded back in the 90s.

Well, she's more a commercial artist, so of course she made a bigger splash in the music industry. But artistically, I don't think people really know who Nicki is yet, which is why some NARAS voters opted to vote against her. At least "we" know what Bon Iver wants to be musically. He seems to have a clear identity as an artist, ya know? I was rooting for Nicki, but Pink Friday wasn't a good indication of her artistry or what she can do as an artist.

The Grammys have rewarded many popular acts since the Milli Vanilli fiasco.

Because Pop/Dance music itself is a bubblegum music in Dance/Techno/Trance genre. That simple.

Gaga, if she wants to talk about politics, try Pop or Pop/Rock. No need to follow the trend, she can stand out with the material only (if she gets it right without making people think her as pretentious wanna-be). Learn something from The Cranberries or The Boss.

I was happy when she won (we all knew she would) but Gaga deserved it, not because i am a big fan (i love fearless too) but because The Fame was a far better produced album than fearless. Gosh even Beyonce deserved it. Idk how the album would've fared if "You Belong With Me" wasn't as big as it was, i mean that song was EVERYWHERE.
