Justin was only a year older than Bieber when he did that photo shoot and he was already a fully developed male. Bieber still looks like someone who has just hit puberty. Not to mention that Justin looks hard, while Bieber looks like he was dragged to hell and back.

I doubt he can pull of a transition similar to Timberlake's, cause iirc, JT never had the stigma that Bieber has attached to him.
Over 18s would rather die than be caught with a Bieber song on their iPods. On the other hand, JT was accepted by mainstream fairly quickly.

Um, Justin was in a boyband Even though NSYNC had more acclaim than their peers, they were still a 'boyband'.

He wasn't accepted fairy quickly. His VMA performance was dragged, and Like I Love You was a flop. Cry Me A River is what brought him accolades.

I feel when artists, esp younger males, try and compare themselves to JT, they are just setting themselves up for failure in that respect. Nothing will compare. Every new music article about Justin's single will mention Justin T. and it will never be about him matching up to JT or being better.
