It's actually a grower. When I first listened to the complete album sampler, it got overshadowed by other Pop giants on the album as PTA or Whip It, but Automatic by itself is really good, and I've found myself singing along to the snippet this past hour.
I'll wait until I hear the full version to judge if it's single material, though.     |

It's a grower Reed!! Give it a chance!
I was not impressed at first also, but it's actually a good Pop-crafted song, and it's really catchy.
I know you're not here for that type of Pop though...
Although if you had to choose, you'd probably go for the Luke-produced Pop (VVV, Masquerade, YF) rather than the EuroDance/RedOne produced Pop (PTA, Whip It, Automatic)    |

It has like a bit of a darker and a more laid back pop sound, but still hot as hell. When the beat kicks in during the chorus =
And that verse
"It's automatic, some might call it insane
I assure you I'll be stuck on your brain
You'll be falling for me boy yeah just like a domino tonight, tonight
It's automatic when I'm rocking the beat
Systematically I'm..."
catchy Popnika perfection.    |

I seriously laughed histerically at this for like a minute or so.
I've not sold out entirely though, even though I'll support Nicki regardless of whatever music she does, the snippets I'm more anxious in hearing are IAYL, the studio version of RH, and future Urban smash:

COME ON A FREAKINGGGGGGGG CONE    |
