I agree with biomind101 I cant get into Yes I Am, it starts of with real potential but the chorus is just noise and its a bit of a mess tbh....Aftershock remains flawless though and superior to most of the up tempos on the album.
I have to say she's been oversinging a lot this era....although it sounds ok in studio recording it doesnt translate well live, she needs to stop doing vocal acrobatics for the next album.

THIS!!! Demis voice is stronger but it really doesn't look like that because of her oversinging. Her later dont forget performances and HWGA performances were stronger because they are more pop rock therefore requiring less inflections. Demi really needs to work on them because she has the best upper range belts in the industry besides kelly clarkson.

Exactly, even if she continues R&B, she should do a more kelly c. rather than xtina vocal, because Demi's an incredible vocalist, but doesn't really have as good inflections as xtina vocally, and finds much more strength in her belting.
Last performances she did this way less already and it wasn't not bothering me anymore at all...
They will still always be there simply because virtually every song on Unbroken has complicated vocal runs on it which dont translate well live...the solution is for the studio versions of songs in album 4 not to have as much...it'll make the songs so much better and effortles when she sings them live.

On AI for example I think she did the runs great. It didn't sound weird at all, I loved it.
But then at NYE I thought the runs were too much.
Last performances she did this way less already and it wasn't not bothering me anymore at all...
The songs on unbroken are incredibly hard to sing. Skycraper fits her more because it is much more belt-based, but gyfab, all night long, unbroken, have so many runs and i can't think of many artists who can do that many runs and have that belting range that can do it better than demi. Not even some girls in my sig. Her HWGA songs are much easier to sing and shell recieve much more praise for them
