They have different performing styles, being "raw" or "artsy" is neither a negative or a positive thing. Gaga and Bowie incorporate art heavily in their performances as well, I don't think they should be discounted as performers for that reason.

The thing is, you can't really judge "art" to say if it's good or bad. If don't get a performance because it's meaning seems too contrived (many of Gaga's performances) then I consider it bad. Performances that clearly display the talent of the artist and their ability to entertain are much easier to judge and, in that area, Beyonce is unmatched.

Bjork can tell a story with her performances, so can Grace Jones and Lady Gaga.

Hell Shakespeare built a career on telling stories on stage, that is not performing, that is TELLING A STORY.

Madonna just adds music, and even then its not that impressive which is why she only does it on tour and never at awards.

NO ONE, absolutely NO ONE can do what Beyonce does.

Have you seen that? she killed it there. I posted that because it's more recent as opposed to a performance from the 80's. Her choreographers have said she's a great dancer and picks up moves easy and growing up, Madonna received a dance scholarship to the University of Michigan.

Theater is performance... Acting is performance.

If Madonna's performing wasn't impressive why would she have garnered such a massive following with her tours and international acclaim for her performing and stage shows?

Please. I KNEW Madonna would do something to have people talking about or watch her performance. Take the superbowl for example. Theatrics out of the world. Lipping out the ass. Throw in Nicki Minaj and MIA for Shock value and BOOM! She even went as far as to throw shade at past superbowl performers (i.e. JANET).

Like girl please, she can never RELY on her performance ability alone. There is always something, someone, or something she says/does that out shines Her and the performance itself. I mean the stage set-up was more interesting than Madonna on stage.

Michael Jackson never belts and is still an amazing performer. Performing is more than just singing and she gave amazing vocals and choreography in that Gimmie Dat performance.

I do think Beyonce is a good performer though, I just feel she's one dimensional, safe and predictable. She isn't touching what Madonna has done.
