The general public are def more here for Katy & Rihanna than Britney. I don't think any of your friends would admit to saying Britney is the princess of pop.

I've always seen it as
Madonna, Michael
Britney, Xtina, Beyonce, Gaga
Ke$ha, Rihanna, Nicky, Katy
Miley, Demi, Selena, Hilary

She knows how to put on a show just as entertaining as Beyonce can. Clearly not as good of a singer.

I think it's pretty evident that Gaga, prime Britney and Bey have put in A LOT of work to get where they are.

No shade here, but Christina has been a non-factor in the musical scene since Ain't No Other Man. I think she deserves more recognition, but she's in a strange category. Not as high as Beyoncé or Britney but neither in Nicki's level, for example.

I think it's pretty clear that pop stars have always been treated that way.

Album sales, single sales, tour success, critical acclaim, industry praise, high profile charity work, business ventures outside of music vs

Seriously?

No I just don't think it's fair for Rihanna to be grouped with Katy and Ke$ha, it's quite unfair to her. I think her music is better than their's.
I also think that Britney shouldn't be thought of as "higher" than the newer artists just because of her legacy, because I think her quality and popularity has significantly declined.

Then why has Britney sold like 10 times what the other have? Britneys first album sold more than Rihanna's put together, lets not pretend Britney is nothing.

they tend to see them all as the same. And then state some oldie as a true music example

But that was only because she had the whole pretty blonde white girl thing going on. Rihanna could never be that. I never got the hype with Brit, ever.

The general public doesn't separate neither of them, they are all ****s that get almost naked and do bubblegum pop songs in their eyes . However some fairies here try to act like music snobs (like Rock music fans weren't enough) and try to make it seem like being a "real artist" is needed to be a pop star when it was never that way

Old receipts, old albums, ten years into her career, first album, blah blah blah. I'm talking about NOW. The OP clearly stated that the general public are here for Britney more than the other pop girls, which is clearly false. Nobody but boys in pop music forums think so.

Lol. I'm not a fan, but it's hard to say she's not entertaining. I wouldn't go see her in concert(I don't like most of her music), but I can definitely see her appeal.

General public wouldn't put Nicki on that level tbh.
I think it's more..
Bey, Gaga, Brit
Rih and Katy
Kesha, Nicki.
