I didn't mean vocally. I personally don't see the appeal in MJ either but his 'vocal range' wasn't what he was famed for. You never know, he's determined to do so and Michael wasn't really known as the 'King of Pop' until he was around 30. Justin's just started out, he's young and trying to find out what kinda artist he is (apparently he knows that now, according to Harrell anyway) so you don't really know until the time comes. I think Believe is pretty much make or break for his career.

At the end of the day a singer doesn't need to have an amazing voice... I'd choose a good song over a good voice nearly every time... Unless the singer had no talent whatsoever (a la Kim Kardashian w/ her attempt at a singing career)

But people have been saying that about him for 3 years now. 'Next year, there will just be somebody new that the kids like.' But that can just be said for any artist... I stan for Rihanna, Justin and Selena. I know Rihanna has a good voice but she's not exactly the best vocalist in the world (but improving)

It's going to be a challenge between Bieber and One Direction now though, that they started promoting in the US. One Direction's fanbase is getting bigger and bigger (even worldwide).

You can never be sure... Really... I think the reason behind people like the Jonas Brothers, who faded out pretty quickly, is because they had their hype from Disney and stuff. Justin is different. And he has lots and lots of backing from many artists in the industry too. I just can't see him going any time soon unless this album is totally ridiculous.

I think One Direction's challenge in the USA will be The Wanted in the end. They're getting pretty big there too and will probably appeal to a larger audience but I don't know.

I know it might sound hypocritical because I'm denying it for JB, but I really do think 1D are those 'fads' that will just be replaced in a year or two...
