Like you said, EVERYONE spans multiple genres on their albums today. That's not enough to be "fresh," and it bothers me that there are people in Nicki's camp telling her that it is.
Doing Dr. Luke/RedOne tracks and also tracks produced by Gucci Mane's old producer...I mean...

I can't get behind that. Fact is fact. She didn't say anything untrue, therefore all the steam rising out from this thread is completely unneeded.
At the end of the day, it still makes sense to place 4 in the R&B section, even though it has Countdown and 1+1 on it. It still makes sense to place BTW in the pop section, even though it has HML and You&I on it, ditto to TTT. It still makes sense to place Ke$ha's albums in the Pop section, even though she "raps" (I use that term loosely) on a lot of her songs. But it takes a bit more thinking when it comes to an album like RR. It's strange to put RR in the Hip Hop/Rap section when it has tracks like Turn Me On and Starships on it, plus all the other pop tracks. It's just as strange to put it in the Pop section, when it has tracks like Roman Holiday and Roman Reloaded on it. That's all Nicki's saying. And she's right.
