I think it's his combination of uninteresting face, boring hair and pasty complexion. I mean, I wouldn't kick him out of bed, but I see better-looking guys in my dorm.
If he dressed better and presented himself better, and by better I mean with some flair and personality and care, he would be exponentially more attractive. As it is, his style is very one-note and he doesn't seem to give a **** about his hair.
