Sally Hawkins. Winner of New York, Boston, National Society and Los Angeles Film Critics for Best Actress. First person in history to do that.

And, also, won the Globe for Comedy Actress.

Since she was snubbed (a snub I have never gotten over) - Anne, I guess? Or Melissa. Those were the only two who had any business being nominated. Meryl was half great/half garbage, and the less said about the other two the better.

Denzel included. It would have better if he won for Malcolm X or The Hurricane, but they had to give it to him for Training Day (I think Russell Crow was the frontrunner that year). I don't begrudge his win, though.

Halle winning for **** is on some other stuff, but I believe she won other awards that year, so I guess.

+ Denzel won that year too. I've read a lot about Russell Crowe deserving it more for A Beautiful Mind that year (haven't watched it) and Denzel deserving it more for Malcolm X, and he lost to Pacino, who had been snubbed several times before. A mess
