"Ray of Light" was released as the second single off its album of the same name. It's a high-energy techno song, featuring many kinds of different instrumentations and one of Madonna's best vocal performances ever, perhaps even her best. It was generally successful worldwide, peaking at #2 in the UK and #5 in the US.

Madonna performed it in The Drowned World Tour, The Confessions Tour and The Sticky & Sweet Tour. It was also presented with Lenny Kravitz in the guitar, at the 1998 VMAs, in a mash-up with Shanti/Ashtangi.

The video is one of her most infamous. It features Madonna dancing in front of a background where people are shown in their daily lives, in a (very) sped up way.

Such an amazing, inspirational and beautifully produced song! 10 from me, as it should be.

It wasn't a gradual climb. It peaked in its 2nd week. Digital downloads started counting towards the Hot 100 in the beginning of '05 and ever since then they've had a lot of impact on the charts. "Die Another Day" was her last song to hit the top 10 based primarily on airplay and audience demand.

Of course I saw "Hung Up" going far on this. It's a great song, but I don't think it really deserves to be that high - Top 10, OK, but Top 3... I don't know.

It's just that, as I said, absolutely everyone likes Hung Up. At least a little.

So I decided to break the tie by checking their 10s.

But both got 25 10s.

So I decided to break the tie by checking how many 9s / 9.5s each song had.

#3 got 5.

#2 got 6.
