Katy has pretty much always released safe radio songs.But the problem this time is that this safe hit is bad.It sounds boring and dated,in my opinion her worst single yet.

It's the second single from Teenage Dream that's sounded like a weaker, dated single. The first was Last Friday Night. The One That Got Away suffers to a lesser extent because of Teenage Dream. But I guess none of it really matters if she gets the #1s.

Do they even care? They obviously just wanted the #1, and this strategy gives them the added benefit of pushing more albums. She's already sold like 20-25M singles off of this album in the US, and the opportunity to snatch a few #1s without even putting out the effort to record new, justified material sounds like a worthy trade-off to me.

This won't really help her sell some albums,it will only give her more overexposure.But whatever pleases them.I'm glad she got another #1 and I hope we get at least 1 brand new track from re-release.

Yeah, I don't like Boybands... at all. I find them incredibly cheesy and bland.
I haven't listened to Glad You Came though, so maybe i'm wrong about them.

My expectations of Wide Awake are minimal, everything about this re-release looks so rushed. They just need to release Dressin' Up in 1-2 months and move on to her third album.

The John Hughes-ness of it isn't what makes it sounded dated: it's the fact that it sounds like a lesser rendering of her other material. It's pure, accessible and universal pop, but executed in such a cheap and deadening manner. It's fine, but it's far removed from one of her more resonant singles.
