This song was the only one composed specifically for the movie
Evita - that means it was not present in its previous stage versions, unlike "Don't Cry For Me Argentina", for example. Since it was an original song, it was nominated for Best Original Song at the Oscars - and it won!
It was the first single to be released from the
Evita soundtrack, but it was not very successful. In the US it peaked at #18, and in the UK at #10.
She only performed it live on the Oscars and on The Sticky & Sweet Tour.
The video features her singing in a room, still pregnant, while some scenes from the film are shown in between.
This song really shows how she became able to explore her voice and extend its boundaries after the vocal training. Nice ballad, 8.
